Pennants Update: Castle Hill vs Lakeside

A gritty half result at home against a strong Lakeside team. We fell just short of the full win, but the squad showed plenty of fight and proved we can mix it with anyone in the pennant.

Big congrats to Justin Hatchet, Stuart Nelson and Euan Keith, who all stayed undefeated on a tough day out.

The results:
Justin Hatchet won 4/3. Rod McDonald dug deep for a 2 up win, sinking a sliding birdie putt on 17. Stuart Nelson and Euan Keith both won 2/1, in control from the start. Trent Wheeler took it down to the wire, a brilliant iron into 17 for birdie before going down 1. Brenden Ellam also fought to the last, 1 down on 18. Robert Gibbeson (2 down) and Justin Reynolds (2/1) battled hard against tough opponents.

Thanks to our caddies for a great job, and to everyone who came out to watch, it means a lot to the team.

Next up: away at Cumberland this Sunday 21st, 11:00. Come along and get behind the team.

Weekly Pennant Update!

🥉 Women's Bronze III Salver finished an impressive 3rd overall — three wins, two hard-fought losses, and a final match washed out at Pennant Hills. A fantastic season from Sheila Ryan (Field Captain), Chris Amery, Pauline Power, Suzanne Fitzsimons, Louise Whalan (Pennants Debut) and Gayle Patrick.

🥈 Women's Silver II showed real grit across six rounds, bouncing back from a tough opener with 3–2 wins over Wakehurst, Muirfield, Mona Vale and Avondale. Big efforts from Kelly Quigley (Field Captain), Jess Mei, Naomi Tsurumi, Agnes Lal, Renuka Padmanabhan and Jessie Yoo. They pushed leaders Asquith hard in Round 6, then proudly hosted the final round on Friday — our course shining through the wet weather. ⛳

🏆 Men's Masters made it three straight with a brilliant home win over Richmond! Wins to Craig Mitchell (7/5), Steve Kemp (3/1), Mick Halcrow (1up), Euan Keith (6/5), Trent Wheeler (7/5), Brenden Ellam (4/3) and Justin Hatchet (4/3), with Matt Williams taking his opponent to the 17th before going down in his match. Huge thanks to our caddies and supporters! Next home game 14 June v Lakeside — come cheer us on! 🙌

Husband & Wife Team Triumph in Medley Ambrose 🏆
Congratulations to husband and wife duo Austin and Michaela Kim on winning Sunday’s Medley 2 Person Ambrose with an excellent Scratch score of 149.

The Kims combined brilliantly across the round to lead the field in a fun and competitive day of team golf at Castle Hill Country Club.

Other major results included:
• Theresa & Jun Lee – Scratch Runners-Up (152)
• Cath & Peter Dickson – Nett Winners (127.25)

2026 MASTER PENNANT UPDATE - WEEK 2

A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR TEAM!

We secured our second win of the season on Sunday, once again doing it away from home in enemy territory.

We came up against a very strong Lakeside side who know their course exceptionally well, making them extremely tough opponents. The course was presented in fantastic condition, with superb greens and some very tricky pin placements.

Despite playing away from home, the Castle Hill team produced a terrific collective effort to defeat Lakeside 5–3. It was a brilliant performance and a fantastic start to the season.

A big shout out to all our caddies — great job, guys!

We now look forward to returning home this week to take on Richmond. It will be great to see some friendly faces out supporting the team.

The CHCC Women’s 2 Ball Knockout is heating up 🔥

Congratulations to all teams progressing through to the Quarter Finals after some fantastic matches in the Round of 16.

In an incredibly rare result, the top half of the draw completely dominated, with seeds 1 through 8 ALL defeating seeds 9 through 16 👏

Well played to all competitors and best of luck to the remaining teams as we head into the 1/4 Finals next Thursday!

2026 MASTERS PENNANT UPDATE

A fantastic start to the season for the Masters Pennant team travelling to Richmond and bringing home a massive 7–1 away win over the home side.

The course was in great condition and Richmond fought hard all day, but our side’s grit, determination and teamwork got the job done.

A huge shout out goes to all the caddies and supporters who made the trip out — your support is greatly appreciated and certainly does not go unnoticed. Cheers!

The Bridgestone highlight of the day goes to Euan Keith, who was 2 down with 4 holes to play. Euan squared his match on 17, then hit a superb tee shot on 18 before stiffing his approach to within a metre and rolling in the birdie putt to secure a fantastic comeback win.

This Sunday the team heads to Lakeside for another away fixture before returning home for two home matches.

We look forward to seeing plenty of support out there!

National Volunteer Week 2026 | 18 – 24 May

This week, Castle Hill Country Club proudly celebrates and thanks our incredible volunteers who generously give their time, energy and passion to our Club.

Whether assisting at events, supporting competitions, serving on committees, helping behind the scenes or simply lending a hand wherever needed, our volunteers play an important role in making our Club such a welcoming and special place.

This year’s National Volunteer Week theme, Your Year to Volunteer, recognises the valuable contributions volunteers make across Australia and encourages everyone to find meaningful ways to give back in 2026.

Yesterday we crowned our 2026 Matchplay Champions at Castle Hill CC after a fantastic day of matchplay golf. 👏⛳

Congratulations to all players who have qualified for the 2026 CHCC Women’s 2 Ball Knockout Matchplay Championship event.

The top 16 pairs will now progress to round 1, with the draw following traditional Matchplay format.

Round 1 will be held on Thursday 21st May 2026 commencing from 0730am.
We wish all players the very best for the opening round and look forward to an exciting series of matches across all divisions.
