WHY YOU CAN’T REGULATE YOUR EMOTIONS
Ever feel like you just want to be happy but you can’t be?
Growing up, were you told to be happy?
Did you experience sadness and weren’t able to experience it? You had to be happy?
This is a common experience among most people. So when you feel sadness, or disassociated from yourself you think something is wrong with you, you go to the doctor, get diagnosed with depression, and are prescribed a pill to numb yourself from any emotions.
Then you associate yourself with the label the doctor has given you and you start to use this as an excuse as to why you can’t do certain things or why life is so hard for you.
And you are stuck in this cycle/ pattern.
What we are taught is that to experience depression, sadness or any negative emotion is bad and not allowed 🚫
What we need to do is realise that there is a reason why we are feeling this way and see where it comes from and how we can navigate it and process that emotion 🔥
