Hills Hornets are incredibly proud to congratulate Elly Wehrle and Jackson Lamont on their selection into the 2026 NSW Touch Football Elite Referee Squads ⭐️🐝

This prestigious program has been designed to identify and develop referees who demonstrate the capability, commitment and performance required to progress through NSW, national and international officiating pathways. Providing a high-performance environment focused on coaching, education, mentoring and personal development, selection into the Elite Referee Squads is recognition of both current performance and future potential!

Elly and Jackson have consistently demonstrated their dedication and professionalism in refereeing across many levels, and this achievement is a testament to the hard work they continue to show ❤️

Elite representative pathways are calling—it's time to join the Hornets Swarm for the upcoming 2026 Vawdon Cup campaign!

We are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Youth League and Men’s/Women’s Open divisions.

🗓️ Key Campaign Details:
• Open Trials: Sunday, June 14
• Trial Location: Centenary of Anzac Reserve, Castle Hill
• Competition Commences: Friday, September 4, 2026

⚠️ Eligibility Reminder: To represent the Hornets, you must have played in our 2025 Spring Competition and/or be registered to play in our upcoming 2026 Winter Competition.

For National Volunteer Week, we want to recognise the people who are the heart of our club ❤️

Some of the most important parts of Hills Hornets happen quietly, behind the scenes. In early mornings and late nights, in car rides, in conversations on the sidelines, in the box and out on the field. They happen in the moments when someone gives up their own time because they care ⭐️

Our volunteers are the people lifting players up after tough games, calming down the nerves, celebrating the small wins and wiping away the tears, week after week for this club 🐝

As a club build on volunteers, their impact reaches beyond what we see on game day. They bring pride and passion to create the environment that makes Hills Hornets so special. You can see how much this club means to them in every moment 💛 This week especially, thank you. We are endlessly grateful for each and every one of you.

Congratulations to our Hills Hornets players selected in the 2026 Emerging Blues Program 💙🩵

A huge achievement for these athletes to be recognised amongst the next generation of elite Touch Football talent in NSW. Hills Hornets proudly have 6 players selected, being the 2nd highest representation from a single affiliate 🐝

The Emerging Blues Program provides athletes with access to high performance coaching, mentoring and development opportunities both on and off the field, preparing them for future representative pathways. We are incredibly proud of your hard work, tenacity and dedication to the game. We can’t wait to see what’s ahead for these superstars ⭐️

We’re so lucky to have such a strong Hornets presence across the Scorpions teams, representing our club with passion, dedication and pride 💙💚

🐝 Hills Hornets on the National Stage! 🐝

Huge congratulations to the Sydney Scorpions U20 Men, who made the Grand Final of the National Touch League Championships — with 11 Hills Hornets in the squad!

This young team, featuring eight debutants and several players still under 18 (including 15‑year‑old Stirling Post), showed incredible maturity and fight all weekend.

Our Hornets representatives:
Anwar El-kurdi, Alex McIlwraith, Baylen Mitchell, Callum Spooner, Hunter Jones, James Fitzhenry, Liam Bissett, Logan Bubb, Ryan Charlwood (Co‑Captain), Stirling Post, Tobias Comito.

Coaches Brad Curl & Phil McIlwraith, and Manager Katrina McIlwraith, led the group brilliantly.

They fell just short against a very experienced Hunter Hornets team in the final — but what a campaign. What a statement. What a future.

🌟 International Women’s Day | Celebrating the Women of Hills Hornets 🌟

Today we recognise and thank the incredible women who make Hills Hornets Touch Football the strong, vibrant, community‑driven club it is.
From players, coaches, referees and managers to volunteers, coordinators and committee members — your contribution shapes every part of our success.

This year’s International Women’s Day carries special meaning for the Hornets. For the first time, three of our four Executive roles are held by women:

💛 Katrina McIlwraith – President
💛 Lucinda Wehrle – Vice President
💛 Christine Matta – Secretary

Each has built an extraordinary record of service, leadership and achievement, and their elevation reflects the strength of the women who have driven our club forward for decades.

We also acknowledge Craig Eggington, who continues as Treasurer and has been a cornerstone of the club’s rebuild and growth since 2008. His leadership sits alongside — and supports — the incredible work of the women stepping into these senior roles.
