🔵⚪ POINTS SHARED IN A 2-2 DRAW ⚪🔵
The Seniors were looking to bounce back after last week's disappointing result and got off to the perfect start, taking an early lead after Barnstoneworth turned the ball into their own net under pressure from Isaac's cross.
The remainder of the first half was an even contest. The boys had a strong shout for a penalty after a handball in the box, while Jordan produced some important saves at the other end to send us into the break 1-0 up.
We started the second half slowly and allowed Barnstoneworth back into the game, with a soft penalty call giving them the opportunity to level the scores.
They then took the lead after we couldn't clear our lines, allowing them to pounce on the second ball and make it 2-1.
The boys responded well and just seven minutes later Patty produced another screamer from outside the box, smashing his strike off the underside of the crossbar and into the net to make it 2-2. 🚀⚽
We pushed hard for the winner but couldn't find the finishing touch, with the points eventually shared.
The Reserves went down 3-1 in a tough contest where the boys were reduced to nine men. Delac continued his goalscoring form with a lovely finish, making it two weeks in a row on the scoresheet.
Both squads now turn their attention to next week as we look to finish the season on a high with two wins. 💪
