📢 QUALIFIER UPDATE

With the Coastal Classic now postponed to Saturday 28 November, we’ve made a small change to our entry timeline to give runners using it as their Six Foot Track Marathon qualifier a little more breathing room.

🏃‍♀️ Six Foot Track entries will now open Monday 30 November.

This means runners using Coastal Classic will still have the opportunity to qualify before entries open.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to extend the entry date or qualifying period beyond 30 November, so runners must have a valid qualifier by then to enter Six Foot Track Marathon.

Good luck to everyone running Coastal on the new date! 🤞

So many of you called it when we asked for your predictions, and tonight we're excited to finally make it official! 🎉

Now that the colour reveal is out of the bag, the next big milestone...general lottery registration, will be upon us in no time. Keep an eye on our socials for dates and details.

🗣 Planning to take on the 2027 Six Foot Track Marathon? There are some important updates to the qualification criteria...

What’s changed?
🔹 A new 7:30 race cut-off for female runners only, with updated female qualification standards.
🔹 Greater emphasis on UTMB and ITRA race rankings as qualification pathways for both male and female runners.
🔹 A simpler qualification process with fewer event-specific qualifying standards.

For 2027, you can qualify by:
✔️ Finishing the 2025 or 2026 Six Foot Track Marathon in under 7:00
✔️ Meeting the required UTMB or ITRA race ranking
✔️ Achieving the qualifying standard at one of the approved qualifying events

Following a review of historical race performance data, the Committee determined that introducing a female race cut-off of 7:30, together with corresponding female qualification standards, provides a more consistent alignment between qualification requirements and expected race performance for female runners.

These changes are intended to better reflect the typical difference in performance between male and female runners over comparable endurance trail events while maintaining the integrity of the qualification process and ensuring all entrants have the experience and capability to safely complete this iconic event.

⭐️ THANK YOU RFS 🙏💛

As we wrap up the 2026 edition of the Six Foot Track Marathon, we want to extend another heartfelt thanks to the Blue Mountains Rural Fire Service.

Six Foot is proudly a not-for-profit event, with all profits donated to support the incredible work of the RFS. Beyond this, their volunteers play a vital role in the event itself - staffing key aid stations on race day and providing essential advice and up-to-date track information in the lead-up.

Their dedication, local knowledge, and ongoing support are a huge part of what makes this event possible each year.

Please join us in thanking the Blue Mountains RFS for everything they do - for our race and for the wider community. 🙌⭐️..

DID YOU KNOW?

Six Foot Track Marathon is powered entirely by volunteers, and that’s what makes it so special! 🙌

From the committee who plan and organise the event year-round, to the incredible crew out on course, at aid stations, bib pick up, goody-bag packing, and both the start and finish lines - every part of Six Foot is made possible by people who generously give their time and energy.

These volunteers are the heart of the event. They show up early, stay late, and create the supportive, community atmosphere that runners remember long after race day.

Whether it’s your first Six Foot or your tenth, it simply wouldn’t happen without them.

To every volunteer - we thank you. This event exists because of you. 👏..

Celebrating Our 2026 Volunteer of the Year: Andy Stiddard 👏

For over a decade, Andy has been the driving force behind the Sydney Striders Six Foot Training Group - bringing runners together and helping them prepare for this iconic race. From creating detailed training schedules to marking and leading weekly runs, he does it all single-handedly, travelling from Mangrove Mountain each time.

The group he’s built has become a key part of many runners’ Six Foot journey, with a strong and dedicated following.

Andy is one of those quiet, unsung heroes whose passion and generosity make Six Foot what it is. A truly deserving recipient - thank you for everything you do. 🙌..

30 Six Foots! 🤯

On Saturday we celebrated an incredible milestone from one of our Six Foot Track Marathon Living Legends.

Living Legend No. 5 - Peter Malinowski, crossed the finish line of his 30th Six Foot Track Marathon! 👏

Peter first achieved Living Legend status in 2016 after completing his 24th race, earning his place among the legends of this iconic event. Since then, he has kept coming back to the start line year after year - a true testament to his love of the race, the trail, and the Six Foot community.

To mark this remarkable achievement, Peter was presented with a personalised Six Foot Track Marathon plate – a small token for a truly massive accomplishment.

Thirty finishes. One legendary runner.

Congratulations Peter, and thank you for being such an incredible part of Six Foot history. 🙌..
