Come down to the Katherine Town Oval tomorrow!

Are you or do you know a young rugby player in Katherine ready to chase the dream?

NT Rugby is on the lookout for talented athletes in our regional communities and we’re bringing our first talent combine of the year to Katherine Rugby Union!

Delivered in partnership with NT Gov, this combine will form part of NT Rugby’s rugby pathway which in 2025 will culminate in participation in the National Schools & Junior Rugby Championships.

WHEN: Saturday, 15 February
TIME: 5pm - 8pm
WHERE: 2525 Stuart Highway
WHO: U13 - U17 Girls and Boys

Participants will undertake physical testing, skills assessment and pathway education - scan the QR code or head to https://form.jotform.com/250229169663866 to fill out your permission forms and register your attendance!

Last Saturday on the 1 February saw us take on the Swampdogs Rugby Union Club at the Swamp in Coolalinga.

A very gutsy effort with no reserves, we fielded a team of 15 that saw us score two tries, but we went down 14-30 against the Swampdogs.

Thanks to Kelvin for refereeing and to Al 'Yorrick' Hunt and Sonia for doing the touch referring too.

Also thanks to the Swampdogs Rugby Union Club for hosting us and for putting on a really good game against us.

Also a massive thanks to our committed lads who made the effort up there on the weekend and did us proud. You guys did a mighty fine effort and we know you can make it through to the finals.

Don't forget this weekend's game is against the Casuarina Cougars at the Katherine Town Oval for a 6pm kick off - our last home game of the season.

When: This Saturday 08 February 2025
Time: Kick-off at 6pm
Where: Katherine Town Oval - opposite the pool which isnt a pool at the moment.

Bring a chair, an esky, all your mates and kids... drag ol' granny out with her sausage dog too this Saturday evening.... you're not going to see action in Katherine like this for a while... well at least a day or two... anyway, bring everyone and tell everyone!

BBQ will be put on by the Katherine Krocs Golden Oldies - will sure to be delicious!

Game will go ahead even if raining.

Katherine Rucking Roos will be there in all their stunning ferociousness and rugby finesse.

Next weekend is a competition bye and our next home game will be on the 8th February against Casuarina Cougars.

It's guaranteed to be an epic battle between both teams! The last home game of the year before Christmas!

WHERE: Katherine Town Oval (near the swimming pool that isnt a swimming pool at the moment)

BBQ tucker put on by the Crocs!

Grab a chair, grab ya husband, missus, kids, grannies, neighbours, pooches, you name it, grab them too and get on down to the oval to watch this game not to be missed.

We Win! 60-0!

Many thanks to the University Pirates who drove 320ks just to play a game of rugby in ridiculous heat against us in Katherine!
Thanks also to all players and volunteers including Jimmy King for the line marking and the effervescent Clinton St Clair for pulling the game together.
Big thanks to Kelvin for refereeing too despite the wicked heat and humidity.
Thanks also to our coach Jona and everyone see us post one of our highest scores ever!

Our mighty Katherine Rucking Roos take on the formidable Swamp Dogs this Saturday 16 November!

You have to come along! Bring everyone too and a chair or a mat to sit on.

Date: Saturday 16 November 2024 (tomorrow)
Kick off: 5:00pm
Place: Katherine Town Oval (just off the Stuart Hwy).
