Katherine Rugby League Club Inc. send a big Thankyou to Aunty Karen and the South Darwin Rugby League Football Club for helping with our 2 big injuries, one in U16s and our U18s Katherine Souths boys. Unfortunately we didnt have a car out at the grounds to take the boys to hospital.

Also big thank you to Nikaiya Payne for being with Bailey at the hospital and bringing him back to us to go home.

Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the updated Match Day Operational Directions, including important changes for:
✅ Kicking Tee Carriers
✅ Ball Persons
✅ Who is permitted in the Playing Area
✅ Club Match Day Responsibilities

These guidelines have been introduced to create a safer and more professional environment for everyone involved in our game.

We ask all players, coaches, managers, volunteers, parents and supporters to respect these requirements and help ensure they are followed at every match.

🚨 U16 GAME CANCELLED THIS WEEKEND 🚨

Katherine Rugby League Club Inc. is extremely disappointed to advise that our scheduled U16 match this weekend has been cancelled by NRL NT due to their inability to provide a suitably accredited referee, despite this fixture being scheduled for the entire season.

Providing only 2 days' notice is simply not good enough.

Our players have trained hard all season, travel up to Darwin majority of the season, our coaches and volunteers have given up countless hours, and our families have organised their weekends around supporting our club. To have a game cancelled at the last minute is incredibly disappointing for everyone involved—especially our young players, who now miss another opportunity to do what they love.

This raises an important question:

How is this benefiting regional rugby league?

Regional clubs already face enough challenges without our players missing out because of issues that should have been addressed well before game day.

We have formally raised our concerns with NRL NT and are calling for better planning and stronger support to ensure regional clubs and, most importantly, our players are not placed in this position again.

Thank you to our players, coaches, volunteers and supporters who continue to show up every week. Our boys deserve better.
