And here we are, for the final time this season. Friday the 13th of March we held our Windup and this year, it was anyone’s guess on who would walk away winners.

This year our Top 3 batting aggregates hit over 200 runs and it was extremely close. Brock Green walked away winner, hitting 259 runs @23.55. Adam Edwards came in at second, hitting 238 @21.64 and Caleb Keley finished 3rd 10 runs away, 228 @19.0.

Bowing aggregate Award was a tight race, with 5 bowlers taking double digit wickets this year, but it was Emily Pinney’s award to lose. 19 wickets @19.84 won her the bowling aggregate and she only just missed out on Bowling average, with Braydon Keley winning with an average of 16.33 with 15 wickets.

The fielding award was another close one, with the top 2 separated by 2 catches, but young Adam Edwards came away winner, taking 8 catches and 3 Runouts. Adam also took out the Darren “Billy” Schloithe Young Cricketer of year award, after an impressive season; 238 runs @21.65, 1 wicket, 8 catches and 3 runouts.

The Wayne and Julie Hams Perpetual Shield (Sponsored by Jeff “uncle” Wintle) has seen many club greats walk away holding it at the end of the night, Tim “itchy” Fitzgerald, James “Baz” Barritt and Hamsy himself. This year we added another name to the shield, but it wasn’t quite a runaway. Taking 11 wickets @19, hitting 259 runs @23.55 and taking 3 catches (and possibly a few runouts), Brock Green walked away winner, finishing on 39.90 points. Second place, only 5.8 points behind, was Adam Edwards.

Now onto the important awards, Emily Pinney took out our prestigious duck award, with 5 ducks. Luke Stathy walked away with Club person of the year award, a very, very well deserved award.

Congratulations to Brock and all the award winners on the night and Congratulations to everyone on an excellent season. We now break for footy season and look to come back bigger and better next year.

💛🖤MENTAL HEALTH🖤💛

This past weekend around WA was Think Mental Health Round and unfortunately we did not have a home game this year, so a phone call was made and we were up against the footy boys.

Friday the 20th we went up against the footy tigers in a Dozen Dash, 12 overs a side, 12 players with a double scoring zone.

Mental health is a struggle that not many country people, especially farmers, think to speak up on. Before the game, Pres Benjamin ‘Benny’ ‘Watermaine’ ‘Sauce’ Quartermaine (there’s probably a few nicknames I’m missing) spoke with everyone about the importance of mental health and checking in with not only yourself but your mates as well. The game was played in good spirits and the cricket tigers came away with the win (expected really)

After the game, Benny swapped the pads and gloves for a (fluro) Green apron and oven mitts, serving up pulled chicken and coleslaw burgers. Thank you to everyone who came, sat in the crowd, helped support the club and a great cause.

And here we are, the (second) last one of the season.

Skip winning a toss and batting first. We lost Brock and Ryan for the same score (9) and we were in trouble. Adam (24 off 45) and Steve ‘Astro’ Irvine (9 off 14) held the ship steady before they both fell. Wicket unfortunately fell at regular intervals and cameos from Ryan ‘chappy’ Chapman (31 off 50) and Tyron ‘froggy’ Pinney (19 off 23) pushed us to 133.

Broomehill were too good for us, chasing down our score in 28th over, Kris ‘Weeties’ Norris the pick of the bowler, collecting our 2 wickets for 26 runs off 7 overs.

Saturday was also the GSCA awards night and there were a few tigers polling, Brock 8 (which made him our highest ranked, at 10th) , Weeties 6, Adam 4, Luke 4, Ryan S 3, Caleb 3, Braydon 1, Chappy 1, Emily 1. Emily was also selected in the GSCA’s team of the year, a massive accomplishment.

A full season wrap up will come after our awards night, so keep an eye out for that. Now the season is over and footy pre-season is cranking up, everyone look after yourselves, hope to see you at The Q next year and as always

And here we are ladies and gentlemen, our last game of the season and what a team to send the season off with.

St valentine and Noah Player make way for Astro and Wheeties. We thank Valentine for his (non) contribution and we’ll see him next year.

12:15 start for Saturday and we are on frogbox, so if you can’t make it over to Broomehill then sit back, relax, crack a beverage and cheer on the tiges from the comfort of your home.

This round around WA is the Think Mental Health Round, unfortunately we don’t have a home game this week, so this Friday we take on the Footy Boys in a game of T12!!

The Dozen Dash (Admins name) is 12 overs a side, 2 overs each batting pair, Double Scoring Zone and this year, if there is a catch in the crowd, YOU get a free Beverage!! We will have dinner on for during/after the game, with it being Pulled Chicken and Slaw Burgers.

This Friday’s friendly game is to highlight the importance of mental health, talking to a mate and making sure you are still out on the field, cricket or football.

Yeah, Cricket.

Ryan won a toss (I’m starting to sense a pattern here) and put Kojonup into the field. Playing with 9 was always going to be hard and that unfortunately reflected on the scorecard. Ryan Sinclair (20) Tyron Pinney (11) and Brock Green (20) were the only players in double figures.

Our fielding innings started promising, having them 4/11 but ultimately they chased it 5 down. Emily Pinney the only multiple wicket taker, taking 3/16 off 4, Brock took 1/28 off 5, Braydon Keley 1/16 off 2 and Luke Stathy 0/16 off 2.

Unfortunately St valentines luck wasn’t with us Saturday, but we reflect and move on to our last game this weekend, taking on Broomehill at Broomehill.

Going back to our under 13’s roots this week, with a 9am start in Kojonup.

Unfortunately Valentine’s Day and the AFL Origin both being on a Saturday during cricket season has spread us a bit thin this week, so we have called upon new players, Noah Bloke and Saint Valentine, to give ol’ Phil a rest.

Onto serious matters, 9am start in Kojonup, at Kojonup Oval West. Keep up with the action on the PlayCricket app and cheer on the Tiges from that Breakfast/ brunch date or Optus Stadium

Yeah, Cricket (it’s good this time, promise)

Ryan just can’t seem to win a toss and we were sent into bat against Australs. We started off a bit shaky, losing Brock in the 4th for 10. Tyron ‘Froggy’ Pinney put on 40 with Adam Edwards, before Froggy fell for 17. Adam Edwards (39 off 41 five 4’s) and Caleb Keley (27 off 21 two 6’s) and Braydon Keley (28 off 27 two 4’s and one 6, also a career best) were great with the bat but it was Craig Clinch in his homecoming game that stole the show. Clinch hit 65 off 42 with eight 4’s and one 6 and helped push our total above 200. We finished all out 223 in the 41st over.

Switching things up this week, Brock and Jesse Johnston opened up, with both producing a wicket. Brock picked up 3/17 off 8 and Jesse picked up 1/30 off 5. Emily Pinney then came on and did Em things, picking up one of her wickets in the second over, she finished 2/36 off 5. Braydon also picked up 2 (for 7 off 4 overs) and Reece Nicholson in his first game this season picked up the second last wicket, finishing 1/12 off 2. Australs finished all out 102.

A great win by the tigers and hopefully one that will give us confidence for our last two games. Next week we travel to Kojonup for our second last game of the 2025/26 season.
