Just spoke with Greenkeeper and he has not been able to cut/roll the green and rain is forecast till at least mid morning so social bowls is OFF today.

Australian Open is done and dusted for our players. Overall Karuah REDS players scored more wins than losses from our little Club against quality opposition players which included Australian and World Champions and a stack of premier league players. Everyone that represented us done it with pride and passion and of course in the best spirit of the game.

Robyn Beaumont and her partner won the first round of knockout play this morning 21-11.
Unfortunately they lost the second game in a thriller 15-16.
Great effort to get that far in such a tough competition, our club is very proud

Scott Beaumont’s side won one game and had two narrow losses.

Sharon Byrne’s side won one game and had two narrow losses.

Robyn Beaumont side won their three sectional matches and proceed to the knockout rounds at Coolangatta this morning.

Had the pleasure today of watching two young men from my home town go toe to toe with Australia’s best bowlers in the Australian Open Pairs today. Chris O’Neill and Jordan Thompson defeated Shannon Mcleroy (NZ gun) and the great Aaron Sherriff in the morning game. Then they went on to win the next two playoff games to make the last 16 tomorrow. Just proves that in bowls if you put the effort in anything is possible.
