🏆 Karratha Squash Club AGM – Committee Announcement 🏆

Following our AGM held last night, 2 February 2026, the Karratha Squash Club is proud to celebrate another strong year and to announce the outcomes of our committee elections.

We are pleased to confirm the election and re-election of the following committee members:
• Rhys Collins – President
• Jai Lovett – Vice President
• Steph Collins – Club Captain
• John F – Club Secretary
• Bridget Keenan-Henshaw – Club Treasurer

We are also excited to welcome five committee members who will be supporting the club throughout the year:
• Wendy Johnson
• Kobe Drysdale
• Michael Sevich
• Lyn Gillan
• Leah Price

We would also like to sincerely thank the 2025 committee for their dedication and hard work in running the club and for leaving it in a strong operational and financial position heading into the 2026 season.

Thank you to all members who took the time to attend the AGM last night and continue to support the club. With a strong committee and an engaged membership, we’re looking forward to another fantastic year of squash in Karratha.

Also a big thanks to our fantastic General Manager of Squash WA Leigh Kaye for joining our little old country clubs AGM and providing excellent connection and insight into the comings and goings of Squash WA this year - much appreciated!

🎉 KARRATHA SQUASH CLUB – 2025 WRAP UP & JOYCE KRANE SPRING SEASON! 🎉

What a fantastic way to finish the year, with one of our biggest seasons yet with 40 players taking part!

Our Joyce Krane Spring Season Competition has officially wrapped up, with The Hoists taking out Grand Final, followed closely by The Hooks in second place.

🎉 KARRATHA SQUASH CLUB – END OF YEAR SHENANIGANS NIGHT! 🎉

What an absolute cracker of a night! Our final Shenanigans Fun Squash Night for the year brought together almost 40 players from across the Karratha community — including over 10 juniors who absolutely held their own on court!

The night was packed with organised chaos (in the best way possible), featuring:
🔥 Speed Squash
🎡 Wheel of Doom – Speed Squash Edition
🏃‍♂️ The Chaser

For those who haven't experienced the Wheel of Doom, it’s one of the most entertaining formats we run, giving players either a punishment or a perk against or shared with the opponent. Some of these included:
• Playing with your left hand
• Using a 1950s wooden racquet
• Junior's ball or racquet
• Plus a few other “creative” disadvantages 🤣

The Chaser kept things spicy too, with lower-ranked players given a head start before the higher-ranked players came charging after them. One of the highlights was Steph Collins vs Durand — a huge comeback from Steph who, even with her handicap, proved she’s simply a much better squash player than Durand… sorry mate, the scoreboard never lies 😂

We also had a stack of prizes to give away, making the night even more exciting for players of all levels.

🎉 CHEMDRY CLUB CHAMPS – KARRATHA SQUASH CLUB WRAP UP! 🎉

On 15 November 2025, we held our annual Club Champs, and what a brilliant day it was! We had over 30 local players from both Karratha and Dampier competing across four grades, showcasing incredible talent, great sportsmanship, and strong community spirit.

A massive shout out to Daniel Mines and Charlotte for coordinating the draws and managing most of the day, an enormous effort that made everything run smoothly!

🎉 Country Week 2025 – Wrapped Up! 🎉

What a week it’s been down in Perth! The Karratha Squash Club crew have had an awesome time on and off the court – plenty of laughs, some great squash, and memories to take home.

A special shoutout to our E Grade legends – Dan Carey, Craig Lekneys, Richard Grain (thanks for stepping in last minute 👏), Guy Langdon (sort of 😉), and Jesse Borlase (also sort of 😅) – who brought home a trophy for the club! 🏆

👏 A huge thank you to our very own Daniel Mines – not only did he play extremely well, but he also spent the whole weekend coordinating the event for all 180+ players across WA. An incredible effort that made the whole competition run smoothly.
