🥋 Master Amanda Morrison | Founder & International Instructor, AITA
From a passionate 12-year-old beginner to a newly pinned 7th Dan Master, my martial arts journey has been defined by dedication, community, and the pursuit of excellence.
My training began in 1992 in Umina, setting off a lifelong path in Taekwon-Do. Under the guidance of Master Steven Cheah, I earned my 1st Dan in 1995, 2nd Dan in 1997, and 3rd Dan in 2000. Seeking a global standard for my students, I aligned my school with the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) in 2002, proudly founding the Australian Independent Taekwon-Do Academy (AITA).
Over the decades, I have been privileged to learn from and grade under some of the ultimate pioneers of Taekwon-Do:
2004: Graded for 4th Dan International Instructor.
2012: Achieved 5th Dan under ITF Pioneer Grand Master Rhee Ki Ha.
2016: Promoted to 6th Dan in Connecticut, USA, under pioneer Grand Master Hwang Kwang Sung (Unified ITF).
2026: Achieved the prestigious rank of Masters 7th Dan Black Belt under Grand Master Michael Daher in Sydney.
Beyond the Do-Jang, I have proudly represented Australia on the world stage, competing against the absolute best across the globe:
🏆 World Championship Honours:
🥈 2013 (Greece): Silver in Power Breaking
🥈🥉 2015 (Australia): Silver in 4th-6th Dan Patterns, Bronze in Team Events
🥇🥇 2015 (London): Gold in Female Power Breaking, 4x Gold in Team Events
🥇🥈 2017 (Argentina): Gold in Female Power Breaking, Silver in Team Events
🥈🥈 2019 (Melbourne): Silver in 4th-6th Dan Patterns, Silver in Team Events
Today, my greatest passion is giving back. Through AITA and specialized training programs, I am dedicated to empowering the next generation of martial artists, fostering confidence, and sharing the true tenets of ITF Taekwon-Do with our community.
