🦁🏉 Lions Junior Rugby – Round 7, Gala Wrap-Up 🏉🦁

What a fantastic weekend of rugby for our young Lions, with the U7s and U9s travelling to take on new opponents and test themselves against some of the competition's strongest teams.
While the results didn't always fall our way, the day was full of smiles, learning, teamwork and plenty of memorable moments. From courageous defence and determined runs to new skills being put into practice under pressure, every player embraced the challenge and represented the Lions with pride. 💪🦁

It was great to see to our U8 players bolster the U9 squad, all of whom stepped up when it counted, helping ensure every team could take the field and enjoy the experience. The courage, sportsmanship and enthusiasm shown across the day were a credit to all players, coaches and families.

Our new marquee is up and looking fantastic! 🦁💙💛

A big thank you to Dr Christian Rowan MP for generously supporting the Karana Downs Lions and helping make this happen.

It’s a great addition for the club and will get plenty of use at training, game days, gala days and community events.

We’re lucky to have so many people and local businesses who get behind grassroots sport and help keep clubs like ours going strong.

Looking forward to seeing the marquee out and about with the Lions family this season.

🏉 🦁 It was great to visit some of our young players and volunteers at a recent training session of The Lions Rugby Union Karana Downs, and present the club with their brand-new marquee.

Community sporting clubs like the KD Lions do a fantastic job bringing our community together, helping kids stay active, build confidence, learn teamwork skills, and develop lifelong friendships.

The new marquee will be a valuable addition for training sessions, game days, community events and fundraising activities, providing a visible home for the club wherever they go.

A big thank you to all the coaches, volunteers, parents and supporters who give their time to help make the club such an important part of our local community.

What a fantastic day for our Lions at UQ, with the U7s, U8s and U9s all showcasing the values that make our club special — teamwork, determination, sportsmanship and plenty of Lions spirit! 💙💛

Across all age groups, our players demonstrated great resilience, improved teamwork, strong defence and exciting attacking rugby. It was especially pleasing to see the skills developed at training continuing to shine through on game day, with every team contributing to a successful and enjoyable morning of junior rugby.

A huge thank you to our coaches, volunteers and families for their ongoing support, and well done to all of our young Lions for representing the club with pride.

🦁🏉 Lions Junior Rugby – Round 4 Wrap 🏉🦁
What a cracking Saturday morning at The Den and Anthony Short Oval, with our U7's, U8's and U9's all showing incredible heart, teamwork and Lions spirit across a fantastic day of junior rugby! 💪🔥
Our U7 cubs played with speed, energy and plenty of flair in a thrilling contest against Springfield Hawks, with smiles abound, the kids had an absolute ball out on the field 😄🏉
The U8's dug deep against a strong Rangers side despite being short on numbers, showing outstanding determination right to the final whistle 👏
Our U9's also battled bravely against Springfield Hawks, producing a gritty performance packed with tough defence, exciting attacking footy and plenty of never-give-up attitude 🦁❤️
