A fantastic achievement by Henry Allan, claiming the Australian National Title in the Men’s 100m Backstroke at the 2026 Australian Swimming Trials in an impressive 53.52.

Local Kangaroo Flat swimmer, Jade Hayward competed at the 2026 Australian Age Championship on the Gold Coast, after qualifying in the Girls 50 metre Butterfly.

This marks Jade’s first time qualifying for the prestigious national event, a significant milestone and a testament to her dedication and commitment to the sport.

Over the past six months, Jade has been training tirelessly in the pool, as part of the Kangaroo Flat Swimming Club, showing determination and focus as she worked towards achieving her national qualifying times.

Her efforts have paid off, earning her a place among Australia’s top age-group swimmers.

Swimming Bendigo has successfully received a $4,350 Community Grant through the City of Greater Bendigo Grants Program 2025/2026 to purchase new Backstroke Ledge Technology.

This will help provide swimmers with improved race starts, enhanced performance opportunities, and access to modern competition equipment right here in Bendigo.

A fantastic investment in the future of local swimming and another positive step forward for our athletes, clubs, coaches and the wider swimming community.

Thank you to the City of Greater Bendigo for supporting grassroots sport and helping swimming continue to grow across our region! 💚🖤
