We have been informed by Kallangur State School that will not be able to run lessons tomorrow afternoon, Tuesday 11th March.

The safety of our customers, their families, and our staff is our top priority.

Dear Kallangur Penguins Community,

Due to the current cyclone conditions off the coast, we regret to inform you that we are not running lessons on the afternoon of Thursday 6th March.

The safety of our customers, their families, and our staff is our top priority, and in light of the risks posed by the storm, this decision has been made to ensure everyone’s well-being.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will keep you updated through email, and the Kallangur Penguins page regarding any further changes or updates.

Weather Update | As we continue to monitor the progress of Cyclone Alfred, we want to assure you that, at this time, our scheduled Kallangur Penguins learn to swim lessons and squads will proceed as scheduled. We expect to post an update tomorrow.

However, we ask that you stay informed by keeping an eye on our communications via email and here on Facebook.

If any risks arise that could affect the safety of our customers, their families, or our staff, we will be prepared to make any necessary cancellations.

Our top priority is everyone's safety, and we will provide updates as the situation evolves.

🚨 5 life savings steps to follow in a water emergency 🚨

1. Keep calm and control your breath. Slow, deep breaths will help you stay afloat
2. Lay in the water and lean your head back. This helps you float easily
3. Extend your arms and legs, spread out and keep your balance
4. Rotate both arms and legs in a circular motion. This keeps you steady and floating longer. It's called active floating.
5. Signal for help by raising one hand. This alerts others that you need assistance.

This year, the focus is on the essential skill of floating – a technique that can mean the difference between life and death in a water emergency.

Did you know that new research shows that 45% of children have poor or average floating ability.

This week, we'll be highlighting the crucial connection between mastering floating and learning to swim.
