⚽️ ROUND 15 SPONSOR | DR SIMON WALL – ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON ⚽️

This week we’re proud to recognise Dr Simon Wall, who has been providing orthopaedic care to the Albany community for more than a decade.

Simon visits Albany regularly, consulting through the Great Southern Specialist Centre and operating locally through Albany Hospital, providing both elective and emergency orthopaedic services to patients across the Great Southern.

His areas of expertise include hip and knee surgery, sports injuries, ACL and ligament injuries, joint replacement and orthopaedic trauma.

Having access to specialist orthopaedic care locally is a huge benefit for our regional community, and we’re very grateful to have Simon supporting Griffins Soccer Club.

A big thank you to Dr Simon Wall for backing local football and the Albany community. 💙💛⚽️

⚽ ROUND 13 SPONSOR | HIGHS AND LOWS 👟🔥

This week’s Round 13 sponsor is Highs and Lows — a home-grown WA name that has become one of Perth’s most recognised destinations for sneakers, streetwear and contemporary fashion.

Established in 2005, Highs and Lows has now been part of Perth’s fashion and sneaker scene for more than 20 years. Along the way, Highs and Lows have built a reputation well beyond WA, with its own label, sought-after releases and collaborations helping put Perth firmly on the sneaker-culture map.

Whether you’re chasing a fresh pair of sneakers, quality streetwear, something from the Highs and Lows range, or one of the harder-to-find releases they’re known for, it’s well worth having a look. Their online store also features everything from footwear and apparel through to accessories and lifestyle pieces.

If you’re heading to Perth, make sure you drop into one of their two locations:

Our canteen fundraising day is coming up, and we’re calling on our fantastic members and families to help make it a success!

We’re looking for volunteers to lend a hand on the day, as well as donations of sweet treats and other goods to help stock the canteen.

As our major fundraiser for the year, every contribution makes a difference. You don’t need to commit to the whole day, just an hour or two can help.

Many hands make light work!

Please sign up for a volunteer shift and/or donate where you can. We really appreciate your support.

Have your say on the future of Albany junior soccer!

AJSA is holding feedback sessions on the future of junior soccer in Albany — and we need facilitators to help run them 🤝

Over the coming weeks, AJSA will be setting up desks at Saturday junior games where anyone from the soccer community can drop by for a one-on-one chat (you're welcome to come in pairs or small groups if you wish) about a topic that matters to them. We need volunteer facilitators for these desks - people who can hold a conversation with someone, listen well, and capture their feedback. We specifically don't want our committee members running these, since it needs to be a genuine, constructive conversation rather than a chance for someone to chase an on-the-spot fix to a personal issue.

We want to hear ideas on the following topics, with a strong focus on constructive and strategic thinking rather than past grievances.
Topics:
• Referees
• Pathway from U12 to U13s / school to club
• Pathway from AJSA to GSSA (including U16-18)
• Girls/Female football
• Country week
• Coaches – training and support

First sessions are expected from Saturday 15 August. Want to facilitate, or just want to know more? Get in touch by Tuesday 11th August — email [email protected] — and tell us which topic interests you. ⚽️
