Our Opens, U17s and U15s played some fabulous netball with tough games, close score lines, and loads of passion! We are very proud of our teams - the players, coaches, managers. Congratulations and well done! ❤️💙

Final positions for each team after 20+ games over 3 intense days -
🌟 Opens - Championship division - 15th
🌟 U17s - Championship division - 7th
🌟 U15s - Championship division - 10th

Many thanks to the support crew - Jodie, Leonie, Mel and Desley - for keeping everyone fed, watered and making sure all the logistics were sorted so the players, coaches and managers could focus on game play.

Many thanks to our trainers - Chris, Simon and Aaliyah. Always quietly in the background, ready to assist when needed, your support and care are brilliant!

And thank you to the umpires too - Mackenzie, Dakoda and Mikayla. Tensions run high at State Titles, but you always keep your cool!

Communication on Court: Building Rapport while Umpiring

Effective communication is one of the most important skills a netball umpire can develop. While making accurate decisions is essential, how those decisions are communicated can significantly influence player behaviour, game flow, and overall respect for officiating.

This presentation explores the role of communication in netball umpiring, focusing on the use of communication techniques, hand signals, confident voice projection, appropriate tone, and effective vocal delivery. Participants will examine how these communication techniques can help build rapport with players, create a positive on-court environment, build rapport, minimise escalation, and enhance professionalism as an umpire. Through functional examples and reflection, attendees will gain strategies to communicate with clarity, confidence, and professionalism.

And before you know it, it’s the final day of Senior State Titles!! ❤️💙

Our Opens, U17s and U15s have been playing some fabulous netball. The games have been exciting to watch, some of which have led to some very close score lines. (The tension on the sidelines is a killer!) ❤️💙

At State Titles, every game is tough, the competition is serious and the effort is 120%. We are so proud of the way our players have conducted themselves, showing great resilience and sportsmanship in the face of tough competition. ❤️💙

All 3 teams are all currently sitting in the Top 10 of the ladder and we wish them all the very best for their final day of Senior State Titles. You’ve got this!! ❤️💙

A tremendous effort from our Team White umpires too, doing an amazing job for many high tension games. What an experience! ❤️💙

The 2026 HART Senior State Titles are happening this weekend at Penrith. We wish our Senior Representative Teams - 15s, 17s, Opens - the best of luck and we have they have a fabulous time. Enjoy the moments, embrace the experience!

Many thanks for all the support that has been happening behind the scenes - thank you to our coaches, team managers, the support crew, the sports trainers, as well as the families who get behind our players 120%.

Also a huge thank you to Team White. We have 3 umpires going to Senior State Titles - Dakoda, Mikayla and Mackenzie - and we hope they have a fabulous time too.

𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥 - We have a short break this weekend so that we can support our representative teams at the Senior State Titles and everyone can enjoy the long weekend.

The 2026 Charlestown All-Age Carnival will be held on Sunday 26th July, 2026.

Team entries are now open for the carnival.
🌟Team entries will close when carnival capacity is reached or by the 15th July, whichever comes first.
🌟Teams are not confirmed entries until at least 7 players have registered into the team.
🌟All ages welcome - U7s through to Opens!
🌟We have an Open Mixed & Mens division this year too!

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀!
The Hunter team competed over 3 days last week in the CHS State Championships in Port Macquarie. The Hunter team had an incredible 8 wins from 9 games, coming in 2nd place and winning the silver medal. Congratulations, well done to all involved!!

A shout out to two of our Charlestown players in the Hunter team, Raya and Grace!!

Umpires work hard to make fair decisions, manage the game, and support players at every level. Clear communication, patience, and mutual respect between players, coaches, parents, and officials help create a positive environment for everyone involved.

The game is always better when respect comes first. 🏐👏
