Despite being fascinated with Damascus steel since childhood, Sandy Hancock of Maples Metal only began knife making less than two years ago and has made the most of Covid Lockdowns to further his skills. Concentrating on bespoke hand-forged kitchen knives, made to order with the most traditional of processes (without a press and grinding only to refining the forged shape and bevels). Every process is done at his home - "The Maples" in Stirling.
