The track started with mounds of dirt and pretty much stayed that way till the late 90’s when alot of changes took place and made the track a nice family day out! The club was formed by Pastor Tippett (who was a religious instructor) with many branches of the Russack family. It was originally started as a Christian outreach to the community but particularly as a sport with a difference for youth o
f the district. This is why meetings are run on a Saturday. The track is situated off to the right of Moonta Rd near the Wallaroo Mines. Follow the signs. As time went on some things at the Kadina track changed and some things stayed the same. The Christian aspect isn’t as foremost now, but I’m sure many prayerful thought has risen from the start line or during the race by a rider or two and by anxious Parents or Grandparents. The track started with mounds of dirt and pretty much stayed that way till the late 90’s when changes started to take place and the arrival of toilets, fencing around and inside the track, car park, pit area, scorers shed, running water, power, and of course the canteen made a remarkable improvement. In 2009 a sponsorship program was started assisting the club to purchase some bigger more expensive items like play equipment for the younger children, running water and upgraded canteen facilities, earth equipment and now soon to be installed starting gates, upgraded and hygienic toilets. Without the continued support from members and sponsors the club would not have been able to progress as it has. These and the family atmosphere have seen the club grow in popularity and members making it a vital part of the motor x sport in South Australia.
