It’s been a couple of weeks since my last gym session and I could’ve easily not bothered to come today.
I’m really in the throes of Peri Menopause now and it’s a real struggle to have the energy, motivation or any interest in training. Even though I know how good it is for me & how it once made me feel but my body and head tell me otherwise.
I am on HRT and it has been the best thing for me and I dread to think how I’d be without it, it doesn’t bare thinking about, to be honest. However the struggle is still there when it comes to getting myself psyched up to train.
Why am I telling you this? Because I like to keep things real, I’m open and honest and very transparent and to be honest there’s enough people on social media that like to portray a perfect life, that I’m not going to do the same.
Peri Menopause & The menopause can be very debilitating and affects women so differently. There’s still a lot of stigma around it and we don’t like to admit we are going through it as we are deemed to be officially old and a has been but it’s not the case at all.
Yes it’s not the best thing to be going through, there is treatment you can have, should you want it, but it certainly doesn’t mean we have to give up on enjoying a good life in our older years.
So as much as it’s a struggle to do something that I use to do several times a week without hesitation, I’ll take the wins on the times I actually do.
And so should you!
