⭐️ Welcome to Week 6! ⭐️

We're thrilled to be diving into volleyball and climbingπŸ”οΈ

This week's sport is volleyball, 🏐 perfect for improving hand-eye coordination and working together as a team.

We're also focusing on climbing, an amazing full-body activity. πŸͺœ Climbing challenges the kids to use their strength, balance, and problem-solving skills, building muscle and enhancing spatial awareness. It also boosts their confidence and resilience as they learn to navigate vertical spaces.

We have obstacle courses with climbing elements! We always follow the same weekly pattern to help the kids thrive.

Come join the fun!

🌈 Active Autism Bootcamp – Week 6 🌈

Week 6 is all about movement, awareness, and reacting to what's happening around us ⚑️

We begin with our familiar Follow the Leader warm-up to get our bodies moving and reinforce routine. This helps everyone feel settled and ready for the session.

Our first game is Ultimate Dodgeball (Modified) πŸ”΅
Played inside a square, the ball is rolled along the ground rather than thrown. This keeps the game safe, predictable, and fun.

⭐️ Children move around the square avoiding the ball
⭐️ If tagged, they complete 3 fun exercise reps
⭐️ Then they join the outside and help roll the ball

This builds:
πŸ’ͺ Spatial awareness
πŸ’ͺ Reaction time
πŸ’ͺ Confidence moving in a group

Next we move into Pickleball 🎾
Using simple rules and soft equipment, children practise:
πŸ’« Hitting the ball back and forth
πŸ’« Controlling movement and direction
πŸ’« Working with a partner

The focus is on keeping the rally going, not scoring points. 🎯

We finish with Balloon Keep-Up, followed by Just Dance, and our calming stretching routine. πŸŽˆπŸ•Ί

✨ This week's focus:
🌳 Awareness of space and others
🌳 Reaction and movement control
🌳 Partner play and cooperation
🌳 Confidence in new activities

Week 5 was absolutely fantastic and we can’t wait to see what Week 6 brings!! β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ’™

🌈 Active Autism Bootcamp - Week 5 🌈

Week 5 brings big energy, fast movement, and lots of laughter as we introduce two exciting games.

We begin with our familiar Follow the Leader warm-up to prepare our bodies and reinforce routine. Predictable movement helps everyone settle in and get ready for the session.

Our first activity is Human Hungry Hippos. Children start by completing a quick exercise before running into the playing area to collect one ball and return it to their team. This fast-paced game encourages:
πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Running and agility
πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Quick decision-making
πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Turn-taking
πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Team cooperation

The goal is simple β€” collect as many balls as possible while cheering on your teammates.

Next we move into Basketball Shooting. πŸ€
Children practise shooting at different targets with options for:
✨ Low hoops
✨ Medium hoops
✨ High hoops

We also adjust distances so everyone can succeed. Parents and facilitators support the kids and celebrate every basket. πŸ‘πŸΌ

To finish the session, we transition into Balloon Keep-Up, enjoy some Just Dance time, and then settle our bodies with our stretching and breathing routine. πŸ’ƒ πŸ•Ί πŸͺ©

This week's focus:
πŸ’πŸ»β€β™‚οΈHigh-energy movement
πŸ’πŸ»β€β™‚οΈCoordination and control
πŸ’πŸ»β€β™‚οΈConfidence trying new skills

We can’t wait to see you this week at Active Autism!
