Small Steps, Small Progression
As I've gotten older, I've come to realise that fitness isn't about being the skinniest person in the room or chasing a number on the scales.
It's about feeling good in your own skin.
Trust me, ticking over into your 50s brings fitness, health, and self-care to a whole new level of meaning.
I've always been active, but like many people, I've spent years dealing with how my body looks and feels. Through all the different seasons of life, one thing I've learnt is that lasting success doesn't come from huge transformations overnight.
It comes from small steps, small progression, and achievable short-term goals.
We often put so much pressure on ourselves to be perfect. To lose a certain number of kilos. To fit into a certain size. To look a certain way.
But what if we shifted the focus?
What if the goal was simply to keep moving?
To choose activities we genuinely enjoy.
To surround ourselves with supportive friends, family, and people who lift us up.
When exercise stops feeling like a chore and starts feeling like something that fills your cup, everything changes.
Right now, I've set myself a simple goal. Nothing extreme. Nothing complicated.
๐น๏ธI want to keep moving.
๐น๏ธI want to be ready for Les Mills Live Bangkok in August.
๐น๏ธI want to create more travel memories.
๐น๏ธI want to spend quality time with my whฤnau, family, and friends. ๐
๐That's it.
Because at the end of the day, fitness isn't just about how you look. It's about having the energy, strength, confidence, and health to live the life you want to live.
So don't underestimate the power of small steps.
They may seem insignificant today, but they create the habits, consistency, and momentum that lead to something much bigger.
