There’s plenty happening at Jervois Cricket Club!

After bringing A Grade cricket back to the club last season, we’ve continued that growth by adding a B Grade side for 2026/27.

That means Jervois will now have three senior teams — A Grade, B Grade and C Grade — alongside our growing junior program.

And after watching our U15s bring home the club's first-ever premiership, we're incredibly excited about what the future holds.

We’re now looking for local businesses to get behind the club and help us continue building on this momentum.

It is impressive to see the achievements of these junior netballers, as the success of our young athletes across the sporting club suggests a very bright future for all our programs.

Congratulations to both teams on their premiership victories and to the netball program as a whole.

We’re gearing up for another big year — and there’s one small change for our juniors this season:
👉 Under 13s are now Under 12s!

If you’ve got a keen young cricketer ready to join the Jervois family, this is their year to jump in.
All ages, all skill levels, everyone welcome!

Change from u13s to u12s

❤️🖤 PRESIDENT – BATESY 🖤❤️

Well… we couldn’t get through the committee announcements without eventually getting to Batesy.

Came to the club to assist with the building of u15's after a few years of not having an u15's team.

For someone who apparently didn't like cricket and doesn’t seek recognition, he certainly does a good job of making himself impossible to leave out! 😂 In fact, Batesy actually tried to avoid having a post done about himself — unfortunately for him, we weren’t having it.

Back again as President, although at this point we’ve lost count of how many years he’s been doing the job. He may not be the club’s most successful cricketer (his batting statistics would probably agree 😂) and his bowling is purely for entertainment purposes, but what he lacks in runs and wickets, he more than makes up for in everything he does around the club.

From coaching our U15 Premiership side, helping develop our juniors and building a pathway into senior cricket, to mowing, fixing, organising, planning and making sure things actually happen every week — Batesy puts in countless hours behind the scenes.

He’s passionate about making Jervois Cricket Club better and, more importantly, creating a club where our juniors want to stay, develop and eventually play senior cricket.

And of course, we can’t forget the career highlights…
🏏 Hitting a six off a 12-year-old, his own son mind you
🦆 Somehow managing to collect an impressive number of ducks
📉 Maintaining what may be a club record for lowest run rate over a seven-year period 😂

All jokes aside, Batesy is one of the biggest contributors to our club, and a lot of what happens at Jervois simply wouldn’t happen without him.

He doesn’t do it for recognition, doesn’t ask for praise and would probably rather we didn’t post this at all…

Too bad, Batesy. ❤️🖤

We hope all fathers, grandfathers, and father figures had a wonderful day yesterday.

Our club is fortunate to have remarkable fathers who extend their guidance and mentorship beyond their own children, serving as excellent role models across both senior and junior levels. Some of these individuals do not even have children of their own.

We wish to celebrate not only those who are biological parents but also, and equally, those who embrace this significant role within our JCC family.

Therefore, from all of us at JCC, we extend our sincere gratitude to all the father figures within our club. Your dedication and sense of responsibility toward all children foster an environment where they can truly flourish.

2026/27 SEASON TRAINING IS HERE! 🏏

It’s finally time to get the 2026/27 season underway! 🔴⚫

We’ll kick things off with a short working bee to get the nets set up and ready for the season, followed by a sausage sizzle before getting stuck into our first training session.

If you haven’t registered yet, don’t stress! We’ll have people available on the day to help with registrations and answer any questions you might have.

For our juniors and parents, we’re also looking forward to building on the development and success we’ve had over the past few seasons, with more structured training and opportunities for players of all skill levels.

Training will initially be on Sundays, but once the football season finishes, we’ll return to our regular Thursday night trainings.

Whether you’re a returning player, new to the club, a junior, senior, parent or just keen to get involved — come down and be part of it!
