Returning to PQH Horsemanship this School holidays

2 day clinic followed by a one day clinic for riders that have previously attended a clinic or riders at a competitive level.

Barrel Racing Clinic – Children & Adults
Educate yourself. If you don’t understand, spend time learning.

Barrel racing is a discipline of its own. It is different from western pleasure, English events, and many other performance sports. We use different bits, purpose-built saddles designed for speed, and work with horses that have unique temperaments and specialised training for control at pace. Understanding why we do things matters just as much as learning how.
At the heart of everything we do is good horsemanship.

Training consistent horses requires consistent riders, and this clinic focuses on building both. We cover as many aspects of the training process as possible while always maintaining strong horsemanship principles.
This clinic will take riders through the entire barrel racing training process, from beginning to end. We will also discuss what it takes to keep a good horse running at its best, physically and mentally, over time.
We pride ourselves on producing soft, supple, and willing horses. Kelley’s horse Stanley is now in his third year of running and last season won the 2D at ABHA Capricorn Coast against some of the best competitors in Queensland. He also attended his first National Finals last year. Our goal for the coming season is to shave off that final half-second and place in the Top 50 at Nationals.

We look forward to welcoming new riders, as well as returning. This is a friendly, supportive, and professional environment focused on learning, improvement, and quality horsemanship.ship y

🐴🤠 Lancefield Bloodstock 🤠🐴 April 25th/26th

Steph & Mitch Dunnachie are the driving force behind Lancefield Bloodstock, a professional training and performance program specialising in the development of western performance horses and riders. With a strong focus on reining and reined cowhorse, their program is built on correct foundations, thoughtful progression, and long-term soundness for both horse and rider.

Highly invested in rider education, Steph and Mitch are deeply involved in the development of competitors through PQH Horsemanship in Ayr, QLD, helping riders build confidence, skill, and a deeper understanding of their horses. Their approach goes beyond training for the show pen, prioritising horsemanship, feel, and effective communication.

As trainers, Lancefield Bloodstock has produced multiple state and national titles, along with Open Futurity wins across both reining and reined cowhorse. Their results reflect a consistent, proven system that develops horses capable of performing at the highest level.

Equally impressive is their Non Pro program, where riders under their guidance have achieved a remarkable list of personal milestones, titles, and performance records. The success of these riders speaks volumes about the supportive, results-driven environment Steph and Mitch have created—one that empowers riders to reach goals they once thought out of reach.

With a reputation for professionalism, honesty, and a genuine passion for the sport, Steph and Mitch Dunnachie continue to shape competitive partnerships that stand out for both their results and their horsemanship.
