In early 2013 Sir Kim Sizer (Greg Wells) had a conversation with the late Bob Harling, then QRA Range Captain, regarding the QRA Range at Jandowae. He suggested Greg phone Weapons Licencing, Sgt. Gerry O'Connor, now retired, which he did on 24th January 2013. Gerry sent templates on 31st January and came to inspect the range on 20th March. The result was that the QRA backstop needed to be raised a
nd lengthened. The fill required to do this left an area which is now the Jinghi Valley Redneck S.S.A.A. Jan Linsley used her expertise with official forms to help us complete an application and on May 23rd it was sent to Gerry O'Connor with photos. In August Gerry O'Connor and Clayton Bradford OK'd the range. Since then Simon Tanner has widened the range by 25 metres giving us 6 ranges. We now have a perimeter fence and gates keeping our bovine friends out, 2 baffle walls, a toilet and as with most ranges it is "A Work In Progress"!! Thanks must go to: Simon & Donna Tanner and Family and their bulldozer and machinery, Ray Brook and his bobcat, Terry Sands (QRA) and his post hole digger, Western Downs Regional Council and their "In Kind Assistance Scheme" (grader & front end loader), Russell Schwerin & Terry Banks (council machine operators) time donated, Jan Linsley for organising the application and making sure all the i's had been dotted and t's crossed and a special thanks to the late Bob Harling who supported and guided us in getting this up and running. So another range is there for everyones use and enjoyment. This is not a seperate range. It is part of the Dalby Pioneers Club.
