Carry the load.
But don’t pretend you have to carry it alone.

This gets heavy.
The bar. The vest. The fatigue. The thoughts in your head telling you to stop.

That’s the point.

Because right when it starts to break you…
someone steps in.

A hand on your back.
A voice in your ear.
A crew that refuses to let you fold.

This is 24 Hours of Heroes.
Where the weight is real — but so is the support.

We don’t do easy.
We don’t do alone.

We carry it together.

$403,297… 🤯

That’s not just a number. That’s impact. That’s lives changed. That’s what happens when a community shows up.

Across 35+ host gyms, hundreds of teams, and thousands of people — this is what we achieved together at 24 Hours of Heroes ❤️

And since 2021… we’ve now raised over $1.6 MILLION 🙌

From the early morning grinders…
To the late-night warriors pushing through fatigue…
To every single person who donated, judged, supported, or cheered — this belongs to YOU.

Every dollar raised goes towards supporting veterans and their families, with 20% of all funds donated to organisations supporting first responders.

Real people. Real impact.

And the best part?

We’re only just getting started.

This is what happens when gyms come together for something bigger than themselves.

Proud doesn’t even come close.

2026 Workout #24 - “Our Heroes”

In Honour of: All Heroes, Past and Present

24 Hours of Heroes began in 2021 with a simple goal, bring a community together at Nepean CrossFit to support something bigger than ourselves.

What started as one gym, one event, and one cause… has grown into a movement.

Fast forward to 2026:
Over $1,500,000 raised — represented in the 1,501m row
5,360 participants who have shown up, stepped in, and stood together
And this year, 43 host gyms across Australia, reflected in the 43m gear carry

Every number in this workout tells a story.
The deadlifts represent the weight carried by those who serve.
The gear carry reminds us that no one does it alone, we move forward together.

The synchro burpees reflect unity, teamwork, and shared effort.
And the final 2,026m row represents this year and the continued momentum of what this community is building.
This isn’t just a workout.

It’s a reflection of six years of impact.
Of lives changed.
Of a community that continues to show up for veterans, first responders, and their families.

We honour all heroes, past and present.

And we keep moving forward… together.

2026 Workout #23 - “Bernard Sydney Gordon”

In Honour of: Lance Corporal Bernard Sidney Gordon

Bernard Sydney Gordon was an Australian soldier, aged 27years serving in World War I. He was awarded the Victorian Cross For most conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty on the 26/27th August, 1918, east of Bray.

He led his section through heavy shell fire to the objective, which he consolidated. Single-handed he attacked an enemy machine gun which was enfilading the company on his right, killed the man on and captured the post, which contained one officer and ten men. He then cleared up a trench, capturing twenty-nine prisoners and two machine guns. In clearing up further trenches he captured twenty-two prisoners, including one officer and three machine guns.

Practically unaided, he captured, in the course of these operations, two officers and sixty-one other ranks, together with six machine guns, and displayed throughout a wonderful example of fearless initiative.

Gordon survived the war and returned home to Australia. Like many veterans, he carried the impact of his service long after the fighting ended. He passed away in 1963, leaving behind a legacy of courage that few will ever match.

2026 Workout #22 - “Addison & Spears”

In Honour of: Senior Constables Peter John Addison and Robert Bruce Spears

In honour of Senior Constables Peter John Addison and Robert Bruce Spears, who were fatally shot after being ambushed while investigating a domestic dispute in Cresent Head, NSW, in the early hours of Sunday, July 9, 1995. This incident led the coroner to recommend significant changes that would provide better protection for all police officers.
After receiving a call at 12.35 am to investigate a domestic violence report, they arrived at the Walker Street residence just after 1.00 am. As both Officers walked up the driveway, they immediately came under fire from an intoxicated gunman dressed in camouflage, who crouched in wait under the carport beside the house.

Unbeknown to Senior Constables Addison and Spears, the gunman was armed with an unlicensed high power R***r 14Mini (.223) self-loading rifle that had been illegally modified from the legal limit of 5 rounds to fire 30 rounds without reloading. Both Officers courageously stood their ground to protect the community, returning fire with their inferior standard-issue .38 six-shot revolvers while seeking cover behind their Police vehicle. At 1.22 am, Senior Constable Addison reached into the vehicle in an attempt to radio for backup. At the same time, Senior Constable Spears was attempting to reload when he was fatally wounded.

Without the protection of bulletproof vests, and a black spot rendering the Police radio communication ineffective, Senior Constable Addison elected to run from behind cover to a neighbouring property to find a landline phone to call for backup. Unfortunately, the phone in the first property was not working, and Senior Constable Addison continued his brave attempt to find a working phone to raise help for his fallen mate. While returning fire, and then attempting a final reload with the clumsy standard issue strip loader and running to the second property, Senior Constable Addison with an empty weapon confronted the gunman and was also fatally wounded. 2026 Workout #20 - “Dougie & Leon”

In Honour of: CPL Dougie Grant and LCPL Leon Smith.

CPL Dougie Grant died on 19 August 2011 when he was hit by a bullet fired by insurgents while trying to rescue civilians following an attack on the British Council building in Kabul. Despite the efforts of New Zealand and Coalition medics at the scene he died en route to Bagram Air Base hospital. He is survived by his wife Tina and two children, Jemma and Jaden.

LCPL Leon Smith was killed when he and other NZSAS personnel accompanied a group from the Crisis Response Unit including Interior Ministry legal officials, who were serving a Ministry of the Interior judicially authorised arrest warrant in a compound suspected to house su***de bombers.

It is believed the intent of the insurgents was to conduct an operation in the Kabul region. In the early hours of the morning (Afghan time) on Wednesday 28 September 2011, as the group moved to the compound it was engaged by suspected insurgents. LCPL Smith was struck in the head by a bullet gravely injuring him, and he was medically evacuated to a hospital where he later died.

This workout was designed by Garry Jones (former New Zealand SAS) and Fred Asi of CrossFit Taumata (Takanini, New Zealand).

2026 Workout  #17 - “Locke”

Honour of: Sergeant Matthew Locke MG

This Hero WOD is dedicated to Sergeant Matthew Locke, who paid the ultimate price for his country on October 25, 2007 when he was on a patrol and fatally wounded by small arms fire from Taliban extremists.
Locke is a recipient of the Medal for Gallantry, awarded for bravery, the third highest award in the Australian honours system. During Operation Spin Ghar, with his patrol entrusted with setting up an observation post in Tarin Kowt, Oruzgan province, the patrol was compromised by militia after a 10-hour foot infiltration up the side of a mountain.
Sergeant Locke, without regard for his own personal safety, led a two-man team to neutralize the Anti-Coalition Militia in order to protect the patrol from being overrun, and in effect repeatedly exposed himself to intense rifle and machine gun fire.
We first found the workout posted by who dedicate a tribute workout of the day for each fallen Australian Hero. In a comment on Instagram, coach Dave Hogan , owner of Picton CrossFit , notified us that he designed the workout in Locke’s memory. Hogan went through the School of Infantry with Locke and the two joined the same unit after graduation.
Sergeant Locke was awarded:
* the Medal for Gallantry
* the Australian Active Service Medal
* the Afghanistan Campaign Medal
* the Australian Defence Medal
* the United Nations Medal with the United Nations Transitional Authority East Timor Ribbon
* the Iraq Clasp to the Australian Active Service Medal
* the International Coalition Against Terrorism Clasp to the Australian Active Service Medal
* the Infantry Combat Badge
* the Returned from Active Service Badge.
