Announcement!

As most of you know I have a new role starting next week with Wesley Mission and are therefore unavailable for morning sessions.

I will still be running afternoon sessions from 1pm. I just ask that any clients who cannot make their afternoon sessions please give me at least 12 hours notice.

I know you guys are awesome and barely ever cancel but just incase.

Vacay!

Attention clients I will be away at the sunshine coast the week starting 19th of July.

You know what they say ' absence makes the heart grow fonder' 😂😂

Deadlift progression over 6 months -

We went from 40kgs off blocks to 65kgs from the ground.

Learning compound lifts takes time and patience.

My lower back story -

It's Friday and who doesn't enjoy a good night time story.

I recently injured my lower back with a combination of cycling and box jumps (must be getting old). I haven't really suffer a back injury before and was convinced I would be able to fix it. I did the following:
✔️ All lower body stretching
✔️ Remedial massage
✔️ trigger ball - quadratus lumborum, glutes, hamstrings

These things gave me slight relief but it was still so incredibly tight and tender.

The missing muscle to my rehabilitation was the Psoas...
It attaches towards the bottom of the back and main motion is hip flexion. A sigh of a tight psoas is pain and difficulty standing up straight.

After locating this muscle with the trigger ball I have began to feel relief in my back.

The reason for this long story is that if YOU have lower back pain perhaps it is this muscle you need to release.

Please follow the photo prompts, the muscle is deep so you will have to push the ball in past your stomach and insertion for the ball is to the side of your belly button.

If this helps anyone suffering lower back pain then maybe it was a good learning curve for me 😂😂

Gotta give Grant a shout out for always allowing me to try new and exciting exercises out on him.

On the menu today was some banded resistant pull ups, chain pushups and nordics to name a few.

Easter Hours -
Next Friday is a public holiday therefore I will be running Friday's sessions on Thursday the 1st of April.
