Mum thumb is real, it has a name and you don't have to just live with it.

De Quervain's tenosynovitis is what happens when the tendons connecting your thumb to your wrist get repeatedly loaded without enough recovery time which is essentially the entire first year of having a baby. Lifting, feeding holds, carrying, gripping. Same tendons, same direction, all day long.

Most mums I work with have been managing it in silence for a while before they mention it, usually because nobody told them it was a thing they could actually do something about. Resting where possible, icing regularly, wearing a splint to take pressure off the tendon and seeing a physio if it's been going on for more than a few weeks, that's where to start.

At Reignite Women's Fitness, I make sure we're not adding to the problem. We modify, build supporting strength and don't push through pain just to get a session done.

💬 Save this post and send it to a mum in your world who needs to hear that what she's feeling has a name and a fix.

Last week was a bit of a blur with the public holiday disrupting the normal routine and causing confusion with which day it was 😅 but that didn't stop these keen mums from showing up and getting their workout in. Great work ladies! Only a few weeks left of this term programs and it's awesome seeing your progress 👏

There are a lot of trainers out there who work with mums. There are fewer who have ticked the boxes to do it well.

I have the pre and postnatal certification, I have the specific insurance, I have a pelvic health physio I can refer clients to so we can understand your body from the inside out. I'm registered with AUSactive. And I keep investing in education because I genuinely want to be better at this than I was last year.

That's what being a MumSafe Trainer means. It's the gold standard.

If you're a mum who's been wondering whether it's safe to start training or go harder and finally do something just for yourself, I'm the person to ask.

💬 Send me a message or drop a question in the comments and let's figure out if we're a good fit.

Last Week at Reignite Women's Fitness
We worked on improving squat depth, saw some exciting progress with push-ups, and continued building strength and stability through single-leg exercises.

There were a few new exercises too, which meant slowing down to learn the movement pattern. It's not always about lifting heavier or going faster—sometimes the biggest progress comes from slowing down, practising and trusting the process.

At Sip & Stroll we had plenty of chats, support and connection. Motherhood can feel heavy at times, and having a space to walk, talk and feel heard is just as important as the exercise itself 🙌

Raise your hand if you’ve Googled “why am I always so tired?” more times than you can count since becoming a mum 🙋‍♀️

Feeling constantly run down, getting sick all the time or taking ages to recover isn’t something you just have to accept as “normal mum life.”

A lot of the time it’s your body asking for a different kind of support.

And that support isn’t always another supplement or trying to squeeze in more rest.

Sometimes it’s gentle, consistent movement that supports your body instead of pushing it harder when it’s already depleted.

I work with mums whose bodies are still very much in recovery mode whether they’re four months postpartum or four years.

Because postpartum recovery doesn’t magically end after six weeks.

It’s a whole season of life and you deserve support from someone who actually understands that ❤️

Save this post and send it to a mum who needs this reminder today.

This one's for the mum who has been sick every other week this year....

Your body is going through a lot right now and it deserves support and understanding

Struggling with your immunity in the postpartum period is something so many mums experience. Many mums experience a hormonal crash after having a baby and it affects how you feel, how you recover and how you show up every day.

At Reignite Women's Fitness, we understand what it's like to go through motherhood and all of our sessions are designed to support you on any given day.

Comment READY and let's find a time to chat.

Last week's beautiful rainy weather saw us move indoors for all of our sessions.

This meant different machines and exercises for our Friday ladies, which is always a bit of fun 😄

Plus the ladies in our Mums and Bubs and Working Women sessions were ready to challenge themselves and increase their weights.

Your progress this term has been awesome, ladies! 👏 so good to see 😀

Last week we kicked off a brand new block of exercises designed to help the girls continue building strength, fitness and confidence 💪

With new movements always comes a little adjustment period for the body… which definitely meant a few sore muscles floating around this week 😅 But that’s all part of the process as we learn, adapt and get stronger together.

One thing I always remind my mums is:
✨ “You don’t have to feel confident to show up. Confidence is built by continuing to show up.”

Every session is another step forward. Another chance to rebuild strength, move your body, clear your mind and prove to yourself what you’re capable of.

Exciting things ahead for this next block 💛

If you're thinking of joining. This is your sign! A fresh new program to start together. Send me a DM to find out more.

Progress in motherhood is rarely a straight line. Some days feel like a leap forward and other days are just about showing up and doing what you can with the energy you have left.

At Reignite Women's Fitness, we are more interested in your long-term confidence than a quick fix. We take a whole-person approach and work alongside trusted practitioners to ensure you are supported every step of the way.

I am here to help you rebuild your relationship with movement in a way that is sustainable. Watching the mums in our community move from hesitation to total confidence is such a privilege.

If you are ready to feel strong and supported in your body, send me a DM saying 'READY" and lets chat. We would love to have you in the room.
