Looking to give the kids something fun to do this school holidays? Queensland Cricket is running an awesome program on July 1 for boys and girls aged 5-11.

What: Exciting cricket activities and modified games. It’s all about smiles, high-fives and building a love for cricket!

Congratulations and thank you to the 6 local coaches who gained their Advanced Coaching Accreditation on Sunday. Thank you to Queensland Cricket Coaching and Talent Specialist Jakob Stennett for coming down from Cairns to assist with the delivery of the course.

Registrations for the 2026 Charters Towers Camp are now live!
Three fun-filled days of action-packed cricket coaching to help develop your child's game for the new season.

Boys and Girls who were registered to a club or association in the 2025/26 cricket season and are aged 11 – 16 years can attend this amazing cricket development opportunity. Please note: Youngest players MUST turn 11 in 2026 (Born in 2015)

• Finish 1:00pm Monday 6th of July, 2026
COST: $225.00
MEALS: All meals will be provided as per below
• Saturday 4th July, 2026: Morning Tea, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and Dinner
• Sunday 5th July 2026: Breakfast, Morning Tea, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, and Dinner

This year, Herbert River have the opportunity to host the annual Country Cup Carnival. The Country Cup is a competition for junior players from Ingham, Home Hill, Charters Towers, Bowen and Proserpine. It is a fantastic event that "unofficially" kicks off the cricket season. We will require a base of volunteers to assist in assuring this carnival runs as smoothly as possible. If you are able to assist in any capacity, we ask that you attend our planning meeting on Wednesday 6th May. Remember many hands make light work. We hope to see plenty of people there.
