The 2026 Community Bank Huon Valley Open took place from 15-18 January. With a remarkable turnout in both the Ladies and Men’s competitions, this event continues to grow as a highlight in Tasmania’s golfing calendar.
Thursday’s Ladies Open drew an impressive field of 64 competitors. Debbie Taylor from Royal Hobart claimed the Huon Valley Ladies Open title with a score of 81, showcasing steady play and composure under pressure. Phillipa Skinner from Llanherne took home the Ladies Valley Cup with a nett score of 70.
The Men’s Open, held over Saturday and Sunday saw 115 competitors battling for the top spot.
Elijah Monaghan from Royal Hobart emerged victorious in the Huon Valley Men’s Open with a total score of 143, demonstrating both consistency and resilience across both rounds. Ben Hornsey from Tasmania secured the Men’s Valley Cup with a nett score of 143, highlighting the competitive balance and depth of the field.
The course itself provided a fair but demanding test, rewarding accuracy and strategic shot-making and the presence of competitors from across Tasmania and interstate added to the event’s prestige and competitive spirit.
This year’s tournament not only showcased exceptional golfing talent but also reinforced the Huon Valley Golf Club’s reputation as a welcoming and competitive host for the State’s golfing community.
The support from the Community Bank Huon Valley and our volunteers was instrumental in creating a vibrant atmosphere and ensuring the event’s smooth running.
