The Club would like to thank the following for their hard work at today’s working bee: Jane Mole, Eve Roe, Maree Farquhar, Kym Jeffrey, Mandy Lovell, Katherine Street, Chris Allan, Andrew Farquhar, Chris Gardam, Bronte Smith, Garry Lovell, Graham Inskip, Bill Newham, Dave Conway, Robbie Griggs, Mike Dredge, Tim Rumney, Pete Marsh and his two helpers from Queensland, Luke and Hayden.
A special thanks also go to the ladies who provided the amazing morning tea.
It truly goes to show that many hands do make light work. What was achieved in just one and a half hours of relaxed work is a great benefit to the Club.
We hope to make this a regular occurrence on a monthly basis, to be called “FWF” (Free Work Friday).

A big thank you to Nathan Rollins Tree Service who removed and trimmed branches from the large dead gum tree on the right side of the approach to the 3rd green which had been identified as a safety hazard. Thanks also to Jimmy James, Mark Baldwin, Mike Dredge, Colin Bennett, Dallas Jenkins, Gary Lovell, Justin Jarrett, Graham Inskip, Bill Roe and Tim Rumney who turned up on a very cold morning to help with the cleanup.

Congratulations to Michael Kupsch for winning this year’s Alan Flakemore Memorial Matchplay Championship, winning one up over Jason Nichols. Congratulations to both for making the final.

Congratulations to our May Monthly Medal winner, Robbie Griggs, being presented with his “green winner’s jacket” by Scott Nicholson from Scuttlebugg who very kindly sponsored the event. Robbie had a nett score of 68 and won on a countback from Otis Cordwell.
Geoffrey Griggs was the gross winner on the day with a score of 71. The A grade nett winner was Bronte Smith (70) and the C grade nett winner was Steve Atkins (70).

The new tables and chairs arrived today and have been installed. Thanks to Tim Rumney and Adrian Butt for organising and to volunteers Jimmy James, Stephen Longey, Geoff Cockerill, Bill Newham, Bronte Smith, Mark Taylor, Marty Poorter, Mark Dunn, David Conway, Peter Bahr, Christine O’Connor, Dallas Jenkins and Robert Sutherland, along with Tim and Adrian, for assembling them. Well done everyone. They look great.

SUNDAY PENNANT - Division 6 TEAM of the YEAR

With the grand finals in Divisions 4 to 6 upon us, it's time to roll out the 2026 Sunday Pennant Teams of the Year. This year each player will receive an EXTREMELY limited edition TOTY ball marker as congratulations for their outstanding season.

Player must have played a minimum of 3 roster games to be eligible. Players performance in finals is excluded from calculations.

In Division 6, top of the table, Huon Valley Golf Club are well represented with 4 players led by Daniel Page. They join New Norfolk Golf Club's Glenn Harback, Kingston Beach Golf Club's Jon Gaudion and the first female player to ever make a team of the year, Geeveston's Mandy Lovell.

Renovations to the greens and tees took place today. An essential maintenance practice that uses specialised machinery to drive solid or hollow tines 150-350mm into the soil, breaking up deep compaction. It boosts root growth, improves oxygen flow, enhances drainage and allows for nutrient pe*******on without significant surface disruption.
The club thanks Tom Filtness from KBGC and Larry Jarrett for their work today. The club also extends its thanks to Scott Nicholson from Scuttlebug Pest Control who provided $500 towards the cost of the tee renovations.
