Another Dufficy Cup done, and another cracking night of junior rugby at Boronia Park.

A huge thank you to all 12 teams who joined us. To all our visiting clubs, players, parents, volunteers, coaches, managers, referees and first aid, thank you for your hard work, your support and for getting behind the night. And a huge thank you to everyone who supported our canteen throughout the evening! 🍔🌭🖤🤍

A special shout-out to Singleton Bulls for making the massive trip down to Sydney and back again. We absolutely loved having you at Boronia and really appreciate the effort from your players and families to be part of the night.

Today we celebrate all the amazing dads and male figures who make our Hillies community what it is.

To our dads, grandads, coaches, managers, committee members, volunteers and all the incredible men who show up week after week, thank you. 🏉

For the early mornings, the late finishes, the coaching, BBQ duties, carrying gear, running touch, cheering from the sidelines and everything else you do behind the scenes… we see you and we appreciate you.

You are role models, mentors, supporters and some of our kids’ biggest heroes. 🖤🤍

TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT 🏆🖤🤍

Introducing the legends themselves…

The Dufficy Cup has become an iconic part of Hunters Hill Junior Rugby, running for over 2 decades starting in 2007,
and tonight……we add another chapter to its history.

These three gentlemen are very much a part of Hunters Hill Rugby history. Across the years, they’ve watched generations of kids, including their own, come through our club, from their first years in Juniors, through to Seniors, with some going on to play professional rugby and even represent Australia. 🇦🇺🏉

And when we talk about the history of our Juniors, Ian Kellaway holds a particularly special place, Hunters Hill Juniors were brought back to life because of Ian.

And throughout it all, Ian Kellaway, Adam Latham and Rod Dufficy have been there, giving their time, their knowledge, their passion and an incredible commitment to Hunters Hill Rugby.

Tonight, we’re incredibly proud to recognise three Hillies legends and Life Members with three trophies that carry their names:

🏆 GRAND FINAL WEEKEND IS HERE! 🏆

A massive congratulations to our U11 Blacks who are heading into the GRAND FINAL this Sunday! 🖤🤍

What a cracking season these Hillies have had, and now there’s one more game to go! 🔥🏉

A huge shout-out to the coaches, managers, volunteers and parents who have given so much to this team throughout the season. It takes a village, and we couldn’t do it without you.

Now Hillies, put on your BLACK & WHITE, head to Granville and let’s get a huge crowd there to cheer on our U11 Blacks!

Whatever the outcome on Sunday, we are incredibly proud of you and we are all behind you.

🏉 SEMI-FINALS WEEKLY WRAP-UP 🖤🤍

We can officially come up for air… and it’s already Thursday! 😅 What a Sunday of nail-biting semi-final rugby across Sydney for our Hillies.

Six teams took the field, and there were some absolute heartbreakers along the way.

🏉 U10 Blacks | Merrylands 39 – Hunters Hill 7
Our U10 Blacks kicked off the morning and gave it everything. A great effort from the boys, but unfortunately it just wasn’t on their side on Sunday.

🏉 U11 Whites | Drummoyne 45 – Hunters Hill 35
What a game! Our U11 Whites pushed Drummoyne right to the end in a very close contest. A tough way to finish, but an incredible effort from this team.

🏉 U13 Cerise | Blue Mountains 31 – Hunters Hill 31
Talk about nail-biting! Neck-and-neck the entire game, finishing in a 31-all draw. 💔 In a bittersweet finish, Blue Mountains progressed to the Grand Final after finishing higher on the ladder. So incredibly close.

🏉 U14 HH-North Pirates | Balmain/Petersham 36 – HH/NP 19
Another really strong game from our combined U14s. They fought hard until the final whistle, but unfortunately the result just wasn’t on their side that day.

🏉 U14 Blacks | Hunters Hill 22 – Drummoyne 27
The Battle of the Bridges at home! Hunters Hill led for much of the game before an incredibly tight second half. With just two minutes to go, Drummoyne crossed to take the lead. Heartbreaking for our U14 Blacks, who came agonisingly close to a Grand Final.

And then came the GREAT news… 🙌🏼

🏉 U11 Blacks | Hunters Hill 21 – Norths Pirates 14
GRAND FINAL BOUND! 🏆 Our U11 Blacks gave it absolutely everything, got the job done and earned themselves a place in the big dance!

To all six of our semi-final teams, congratulations on making it this far. Finals rugby is tough, and Sunday certainly delivered some huge games. You represented the black and white with pride. 🖤🤍

🖤🤍 THROWBACK THURSDAY | DUFFICY CUP 🏆

As we count down to Dufficy Cup Eve, we are throwing it all the way back to 2022, the only time the Dufficy Cup has ever come home to Hunters Hill, with the competition running since 2007! 🏆🖤🤍

That night, our Under 10s played the game of their lives against Mosman, a club that has been such a strong force throughout the history of the competition.

Our kids played their little hearts out, left absolutely everything on the field and came out on top. 🖤🤍🏆

With Coach Chris and Coach Julio at the helm, it was one of those special nights that will forever be part of Hunters Hill rugby history.

And now, tomorrow night, the Dufficy Cup returns, bigger than ever. 🏉🔥

Alongside the Dufficy Cup, we’ll also see the new Latham Shield and Kellaway Bowl up for grabs, adding even more history, competition and excitement to the night.

12 teams. Two fields. Three trophies. 🏆🏆🏆

For our U9s, their families and the entire Hunters Hill community, it’s a very special night, full of footy, rivalry, friendships and memories that last well beyond the final whistle.

So, can we do it again?

🏉 Our Littlest Hillies 🖤🤍

Last night saw our Try Rugby littlies wrap up their 2026 season with their presentation night down at Boronia, complete with the classic sausage sizzle and a special little presentation for the youngest members of our Hillies family. 🥹🖤🤍

To our Try Rugby kids, you are the future of rugby! 🏉 We couldn’t be prouder of you and the way you’ve embraced your introduction to rugby at Hunters Hill this season.

A very special thank you to Dean and Maz, who have given up their Tuesday nights all season to encourage, teach and show these little Hillies what rugby is all about. Your time, patience and enthusiasm have made their first experience of rugby such a positive one. A big thank you also to Aggie and Luca for all your help and support throughout the season. 🙏🏼

And of course, thank you to all our Try Rugby parents for bringing the kids down every Tuesday, getting involved and supporting them. It really has been such a great little group.

We hope to see all those familiar faces back at Boronia next year, ready to do it all again in 2027! 🖤🤍🏉

🏉 SEMI-FINALS, HERE WE COME! 🖤🤍

Tomorrow is a big day for our Hillies, with SIX teams taking the field in the SJRU Semi-Finals! 👏🏼

A huge congratulations to all our players, coaches, managers and families. What a season, and what a perfect weekend for some great finals rugby! ☀️🏉

On behalf of Hunters Hill Rugby, we wish all six teams the very best of luck tomorrow. Play hard, play fair, back your teammates and do the Hillies proud. 🖤🤍

A little reminder for our junior players and everyone on the sidelines:
This is junior rugby, not the Wallabies playing in a World Cup. 🏉

🖤🤍 WEEKLY WRAP UP 🤍🖤

THE BUSINESS END OF THE SEASON 🏉

What a weekend for our Hillies as we edge closer to the end of another massive season!

Friday night saw our Minis take the field for their second-last round, while Sunday marked the final regular round of the season for our Juniors.

There were tough matches, big wins, heartbreaking losses and plenty on the line. Some teams were fighting for that all-important spot in the semi-finals, while others had already secured their place — but one thing was the same across the board… our Hillies played their hearts out and wore that black & white with pride. 🖤🤍

Friday was also extra special for Rafaiella, playing her final game with the teammates she’s been alongside since U6s. As she ages out of mixed rugby after U12s, it’s the end of an era.

And now… FINALS FOOTY! 🔥

This weekend, SIX Hillies teams will take the field in the semi-finals, while our Minis head into their final round of the season.

A huge thank you to our opposing clubs, referees, First Aid, volunteers, coaches, managers, canteen crew and parents who helped make the weekend happen. Your time, support and commitment are what make our club so special.
