Happy Birthday to our Miss Amy. 🥳💜

Amy puts so much of herself into Mako’s and works incredibly hard to create a place where kids feel safe, families feel supported, and staff continue to grow and learn.

There’s a whole lot of heart behind what she does, and our Mako's community is better because of it. We’re very grateful for everything you do for all of us, Amy.

At Mako’s Swim School, our goal is to help every child feel safe, confident, and comfortable in the water while learning skills that stay with them for life. 💙

Our lessons focus on:
🏊‍♀️ Correct technique
🌊 Water safety skills
👏 Positive encouragement
⭐️ Steady progression in a fun and supportive environment

Some kids jump straight in. Others need a little more time to build confidence first, and that’s okay. We just love watching the little moments turn into big wins, for both the kids and their families. 💫

Howard, meet the people behind Mako’s Swim School. 🦈

This is Amy and Lloyd, the owners behind Mako’s, and the reason everything we do is built around community, families, and making people feel comfortable from the moment they walk in.

What started in Hervey Bay has grown through word of mouth, local support, and a genuine focus on helping kids build confidence and skills in the water.

Now, we’re looking forward to bringing that same approach to Howard State School Pool.

If you see them around, don’t be shy, they’re always up for a chat.

We’re excited to announce that Mako's Swim School is coming to Howard!

We are currently preparing to bring our programs to the community at Howard State School pool, creating more opportunities for local families to access swimming, fitness, and aquatic wellbeing programs close to home.

💪 Aqua Aerobics & Water Fitness Classes

Whether you’re building water confidence, supporting your child’s swimming journey, or looking for low-impact fitness in a supportive environment, we’re bringing something for everyone.

Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming space that supports:

* Water safety and confidence
* Lifelong swimming skills
* Community health and wellbeing
