💛 R U OK? DAY 💛

Today, we’re sharing cupcakes with our competitors at the 2026 BARE Equestrian Horse of the Year and starting an important conversation: R U OK?

Equestrian sport brings us together through our shared love of horses, but behind every ride, result and smile, someone may be facing challenges we cannot see.

A simple question can make a big difference. Take the time to check in with your fellow competitors, friends, volunteers and officials. Listen without judgement and remind them they’re not alone—not just today, but every day.

Ask R U OK? Because a conversation could change a life. 💛🐴

Meet Dr Stephen Peters.

Dr Peters is a clinical neuropsychologist and equine neuroscientist whose work brings together brain science and horsemanship to explore how horses learn, respond, regulate and interact with us.

His work has reached horse people around the world, from Evidence-Based Horsemanship, co-authored with Martin Black, to international presentations including the Spanish Riding School in Vienna.

On 29 October, Equestrian NSW members will have the opportunity to do more than simply listen to Dr Peters.

They will be able to join him live, hear his perspective and interact with him directly.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll share some of his ideas and podcast conversations so you can begin exploring his work before the session and arrive with your own questions.

We are pleased to support Equestrian Australia’s Integrity Month campaign. Please read and re-share EA’s latest post and help champion Honesty, Ownership, Respect, Safety and Ethics across our equestrian community.

What does Integrity mean? 🤔

Integrity in sport means that athletes, supporters and fans can participate and celebrate sport, confident in the knowledge that they are part of a safe, ethical and inclusive environment. 🙌

To kick off Integrity & Wellbeing Month at Equestrian Australia, we invite all members to complete our national survey on Integrity Awareness and Education.
