Today we celebrate the strong, caring, hardworking and inspiring women who support their families both on and off the mats. Whether you train, cheer from the sidelines, help tie belts, drive to classes, or simply encourage your kids and loved ones every day you are such a big part of our community.

Thank you for the love, patience, strength and energy you bring to the academy. We are truly grateful to have such incredible mums as part of the GB Hornsby family.

This Saturday, we're inviting ALL mums members and non-members to join us on the mats for a very special class During our Parents And Kids class.

We asked Noah and Jacob if they've ever had to use BJJ to defend themselves at school.

Both said yes. 💙
And what happened? They didn't fight back. They didn't panic.

They did what they were trained to do.
When a child trained in Jiu-Jitsu faces a bully, they don't need to throw a punch.
They can take the aggressor down, hold them in a safe position, and negotiate

"Stop. I'm not going to hurt you. But I'm not going anywhere either."

That's the beauty of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
It's the most effective self-defence martial art in the world not because it makes kids dangerous, but because it gives them the ability to stay calm, stay in control, and choose peace from a position of strength.
No punches. No aggression. Just confidence, control, and communication.

We’re excited to launch our brand-new 6-week Self-Defense Course at Gracie Barra Hornsby!
Tailored for beginners, this course is perfect for anyone who wants to build confidence, learn practical self-defense, and discover the power of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA. No prior experience or fitness level required!

Starting April 21st, classes will run Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m., guided by Professor Marcio Lemos, a 4th-degree black belt and MMA fighter.
