Well. What a week! Hornsby had not won a game at the Bradman Spirit of Cricket Carnival since 2013. But anyone who has seen this group of boys play would know to expect this year to be different. Not only was it different, but they only went and won EVERY SINGLE GAME!
Standout performances of the week were many:
4 wicket hauls for Manvik and Nivaan, and wickets shared thought the team
50s to Aryaman and Vyom (also a 49)
80 run partnership between Aryaman and Lawson, and 71 between Virat and Vyom
A record high team score of 208 from 22 overs.
A great team effort in the field, with catches throughout the team: Vyom 8, Manvik 5, Menuja 4, Nivaan and Lawson 3, Mitchell, Zayd, Nimai and Owen 1 each
Player of the Tournament went to Vyom for his 184 runs at 61.33, 8 catches and 1 run-out

None of this is possible either without the efforts of the parents and, in particular, the team Manager, Althea, and Coach, Alok. Both on the committee as well, they still manage to find time to run a very tight ship - and you can tell from the photos that it’s a fun ship too!
For a small club like Hornsby District Cricket Club, it is a great honour to be invited every year to this carnival; to then win the whole damn thing is a tremendous achievement that these boys will never forget. So well done Hornsby, be proud of yourselves for the way you acquitted yourselves on and off the field. Go Hornets!
