https://goo.gl/maps/jGy5i7PKS1t Established in 1972, the Hoppers Crossing Junior Netball Association (HCJNA) has played a major role in offering the sport of Netball to many young people in t
he Hoppers Crossing and Wyndham Community. Beginning with four teams of under 10βs over forty five years ago, the HCJNA has grown to encompass nearly 40 teams and over 350 children involved in games held at our Mossfiel Reserve courts every Saturday morning. We now have the following age divisions ; Junior Development, under 11s, under 13s, under 15s, under 18s and Opens with children also participating in NetSetGO (basic skills training for 5-8 year olds). The committee is aware of the mounting pressures on our sport and, in particular, our Association through the many various other sports and pastimes available to junior members, however, we believe that with a fun, professional approach to the game and to the administration of the Association we can continue to provide a safe, enjoyable atmosphere for children to participate in Netball, whilst offering all the community benefits that a successful sporting association can provide. In late 2015 - early 2016, HCJNA had a major facelift with all our courts upgraded/resurfaced, new fences, shelters & lighting. At a specially convened Delegate's Meeting (12 August 2017), Life Members and team delegate's voted unanimously in favor of a minor name change to the HCJNA. Effective immediately the HCJNA will become the Hoppers Crossing Netball Association (HCNA), dropping the 'Junior' out of our name. This change comes on the back of the major recommendation to come out of a strategic planning exercise with Netball Victoria three years ago. Whilst the change is effective immediately, the HCNA will methodically implement change as we amalgamate the two incorporated associations and make relevant and timely changes to the logo, website, Facebook, signage, apparel etc. Our focus has been and will continue to be the promotion and implementation of our Saturday junior competitions but as we continue to expand on our Thursday twilight Women's and Mixed competitions the name change became more relevant. Given the unanimous support this change was given by Life Members and team delegate's the HCNA committee are confident this is the right course of action to take.
