Getting older isn't the problem.
Getting weaker is.
Every year you stop challenging your body, you give up strength, muscle and capacity.
But your sport doesn't care how old you are.
The game still demands acceleration.
The tackle still has to be absorbed.
The change of direction still has to be controlled.
So why would you stop building the physical qualities that help you handle those demands?
Master athletes should lift.
Heavy.
Progressively.
Intelligently.
Not because they're trying to be 20 again.
Because they want to keep competing for another 10, 20 or 30 years.
Don't train for your age. Train for the demands of your sport.
