As the Modbury Basketball Club is developing, growing and evolving, there are many exciting positive changes coming.
Firstly we have identified a few key elements that require ergent improvement.
These being communication and development
Communication:
Social media is the easiest means to communicate with most families. Please search for "@ ModburyBasketballClub" on facebook or modbury_bball on instergram and join us there for regular updates.
If you do not want this and prefer email, please contact one of the board members above and supply your current email address
Also at this stage we are planning to release a monthly newsletter over the regular updates
Development:
Of course basketball is all about fun and fitness with friends, but also we all want to see our kids develop their skills.
In order for this to happen, the club's responsibility is to provide coaching that enables this growth. This means we are looking to upskill our existing volunteer coaches, but also how we can best provide the environment for those interested in being involved in coaching, a pathway to participate.
As we know, it is a significant commitment from those that volunteer their time to support your children, and these people also require help from parents and carers. If you want to get involved in any capacity, please speak with a board member
Safe Environment:
From July 1 2019, new rules came into effect regarding working with children
Information can be found at this link :

As a club, we are ensuring that everyone who works with your children has the required clearance
Fee Payment:
To ensure this club continues to grow, and follows requirements set by the leagues our teams play in, the club must change our fee payment policy.
Outstanding fees will be due by 24th November.
This includes our club fees, but more importantly the league registration fees for your children. Further payment details will come home with your children from training this week. If you are having difficluty in paying, we ask that you contact the club to request an arrangement.
As an incorporated club moving forward, we must update our payment policy for future seasons. Registrations will be required prior to the beginning of a new season to ensure your child has a team, coach and league to play in. More information will be sent shortly
Fundraising:
With strong support from our families, this club could grow to something special.
We have several fundraising events planned over the next few months. This is a great chance for the kids to bond, but also for the club to generate further income which in turn helps future development. If you have any questions about our events or opportunities the club could get involved with, please speak with Rachael
We see this as a community club, which can only succeed as a whole team working together. This newly formed board is here to develop and grow the club, with your support.
If you have any suggestions, we welcome the feedback.
If you want to get involved, we welcome the support
We are all excited by this new growth phase for the club
Thanks from Modbury Basketball Club
