Mixed results on Sunday for our Third and Fourth Grade sides 🏏

Home Hill ML Partners chased down 188 in Fourth Grade to win by 6 wickets! 🏆 Captain Travis Butler tore through the Beaches middle order taking 4 wickets, before Alexander Romeo (38), Andrew Wallwork (57) and Dan Olditch (60 not out) steered the chase home. A strong all‑round team performance to take the win 4/197!

Home Hill Evergreen Sheds showed plenty of fight, but Suburban Parks proved too strong in the chase — passing the Home Hill target of 111 and batting on to finish 7/161 for a three‑wicket Third Grade win. Big early blows from Simon Vickers (31 runs) followed by Laurence Zappa with 23, and a committed effort with the ball kept Home Hill in it, but the Redbacks held firm to close out the match. 🏏

Home Hill Pengelly Cabinets made short work of a small total at the Nutrien Ag Solutions Cricket Complex on Saturday, producing a dominant Second Grade win 🏆

After winning the toss, Home Hill sent Wests in - and immediately took control. The opening bowlers were relentless, hitting a tight line and forcing mistakes from the very first over. Aaron Mckeown struck twice in his opening spell, removing the openers to leave Wests reeling at 2/1. From there, the pressure never eased.

Wickets fell steadily: Lachlan Altmann jagged one, Mark Nosworthy chipped in with two, and Alex Stillhard continued his reliable form with another pair. The tail had no answers for Al Wilkins, who cleaned up with three late wickets to finish the innings. Wests were dismissed for just 48 in 25.5 overs 😳 - an outstanding collective bowling effort featuring three catches in the field and a maiden-filled scorecard.

Chasing 49 was never going to trouble Home Hill, and the top order ensured it didn’t. Brad Parravicini anchored the innings with a composed 24* from 66 balls, while Mark Nosworthy finished the job with an unbeaten 11. Only two wickets fell along the way, and the chase was wrapped up clinically at 2/49 🏏

A dominant win built on discipline with the ball, sharp fielding, and a calm, measured chase - Home Hill never looked anything but in control.

A tough day at the Nutrien Ag Solutions fields saw the Fourth grade Home Hill ML Partners side post 72, with Andrew Wallwork lighting things up with 20 runs including four crisp boundaries and Michael Richards (11) adding late spark.

The bowlers and fielders gave it a red‑hot crack — Yaveen Fernando and Roopesh Krishnan struck, Cameron Butterworth kept things tight, and the catching crew of Newman, Wallwork and Richards were busy all innings.

But the Redbacks chased steadily to finish 5‑126 and take the chocolates.

Plenty of effort, plenty of laughs, and plenty to build on — classic Home Hill spirit 🏏

Home Hill Evergreen Sheds fought hard in Third Grade but couldn’t reel in the target yesterday. Saints posted 7/158, with our bowlers and fielders putting in a strong shift — highlighted by Alex Stillhard’s outstanding 6 overs, 4 maidens, 2 wickets and five clean team catches.

The chase never quite settled, despite good efforts from Leo Olditch (27) and Jay Leckenby (15), and Home Hill finished on 94, falling short by 64 runs.

Plenty of positives to take forward into next week 🏏

Home Hill Pengelly Cabinets took the win against Wanderers with overs to spare, winning by 6 wickets after a brilliant all‑round Second Grade team effort 🏆

The Home Hill bowlers shared the wickets around — Flanagan and Richards took two each, Marano and Mckeown grabbed key wickets, and sharp fielding (including two run outs) kept Wanderers to 7/157.

Kris Wright was the ⭐️ , smashing 84 off 68* to steer the chase, with Al Wilkins finishing strong on 25* as Home Hill finished victorious on 4/158 🏏

💚💛 Mazlyn Smith has done Home Hill proud!🏏🌟

Selected in the NQ Schoolgirls U12 team, she headed to the Sunshine Coast for the State Championships — taking 6 wickets, finishing 33rd out of 119 bowlers, and even snagging 2 wickets in 2 balls against the eventual winners.

She was named Best Fielder by NQ coaches for her boundary stops, safe hands and strong throws. Not bad for her first ever cricket carnival. Maz is already keen for the next one!

Look forward to seeing Mazlyn and all of our juniors back on the field when Junior Cricket returns in October 🏏
