What a special way to finish our Wednesday morning Project Elevate lessons. 💜
Miss Kerrie was surprised with flowers, chocolates, and a beautiful note from her adult swimmers, who wanted to thank her for all of her support, encouragement, and the progress they have made in the pool.
Over their time together, these swimmers have built not only their confidence and skills but also lasting friendships. What started as swimming lessons has turned into a wonderful community, with the group ending each lesson with coffee together and now planning to continue meeting weekly at HAC to practise their swimming.
Seeing confidence grow, friendships form, and a lifelong love of swimming develop is what it's all about.

Why do our teachers get swimmers to count their backstroke arms from the flags to the wall?
Counting helps swimmers know exactly when to start their tumble turn, reducing the risk of hitting their head on the wall. It also builds spatial awareness, muscle memory, and helps maintain speed and momentum into the turn or finish.

Don't let winter slow your swimmer's progress!
Taking a break over winter can stall progress in the pool. Consistent practice is key when learning to swim, as swimmers need to work on the same skills week after week to build strength, confidence, and technique.
