Plenty of extraordinary performances were recognised at the Athletics South Track & Field Awards Night on Friday, including a number of Eastern Suburbs athletes.
Congratulations to all award recipients, in particular the following;
U/14 Female; Mia BANNISTER
U/18 Female; Palepa LEAUMA
U/20 Male; Ashton FORD
O/40 Female; Eloise FISHER
Ted Best Award; Archie DIXON
Graeme Briggs Memorial Award; Jett FORD
Helen Lee Award; Eloise FISHER
Open Women; Sophie YOUNG
Xavier LEAUMA was awarded the Athletics South Medal, for the best individual performance across the year (winter or summer) for his record breaking Hammer throw at the U/20 Nationals, which also sealed his selection for the World Juniors.
Maureen McDONALD was acknowleged with the Australian Athletics Platinum Service Pin for 40 years service to athletics (as was Peter LYDEN who has done heaps for ESAC over those years.
Finally, Jarrod GIBSON was presented with Athletics South Life Membership for his service to Athletics South for an extended period, presented by ESAC and AS Life Member Wayne MASON.
