Mark Sowerby is an Australian marathon/open water swimmer best known for completing the Oceans Seven challenge, the open water swimming equivalent of the Seven Summits in mountaineering.

The Oceans Seven consists of seven major channel swims around the world:

2. North Channel (Ireland–Scotland)
3. Catalina Channel (California)
4. Cook Strait (New Zealand)
5. Molokai Channel (Hawaii)
6. Tsugaru Strait (Japan)

The Scott Anthony 5 Kilometre Race 🌊 We are honoured to rename our 5km event after a true legend of the Coles Bay community, Scott Anthony. Scott was a mentor, a friend, and a fixture in the Devil of a Swim. As his son Luke says, Scott loved the challenge of the 5km course, but he loved the camaraderie even more. This April, we swim not just for the finish line, but to honour Scott’s spirit of encouragement and his love for the sea. Give the sponsors a wave, challenge yourself, and enjoy the ocean—just as Scott would have. Join us in April to celebrate his legacy. 💙
