A good teacher should be comfortable with being questioned.

I don’t believe our role as yoga teachers is to position ourselves as the person with all the answers. In fact, I think anyone claiming to have all the answers is probably worth questioning a little more.

The traditional guru/disciple model relies on hierarchy. One person holds the knowledge and authority, while everyone else is expected to trust it. And we know that when a culture discourages people from questioning authority, whether that’s about alignment, philosophy, diet, how you should practise or how you should live, it can create the conditions for much more serious abuses of power to go unquestioned too.

As teachers, we can know a lot and still say “I don’t know.” We can have strong opinions and still be willing to discuss them. We can share what we’ve learnt while encouraging students to test it against their own experience.

Ultimately, I think good teaching should make a student more trusting of themselves, not more dependent on their teacher. The hope is that eventually you take what you’ve learnt, keep exploring, and perhaps even outgrow the people who taught you.

That philosophy sits at the heart of how we approach Yoga in Depth. We’re not interested in creating one particular version of what a yoga teacher should be. We want to give you the knowledge, context and space to question what you’re learning and discover what you actually believe.

Yoga in Depth, our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, returns in 2027.

Came for the stretch, stayed for everything else that came with it 🤎

The physical practice might be what gets you through the door, but it’s very rarely the only reason you keep coming back.

Come see for yourself

See you on the mat ☁️

The best teachers never stop being students 📔

One of the things we value most at Folde is continuing to learn. Every training you take changes the way you see the body, the way you teach, and the way you support the people in front of you.

Here’s your reminder if you’ve been thinking about joining us for Restore 25-hour immersive Myofascial Release training.

Early bird pricing finishes on August 30.

Across three immersive days, Dana Diament and Amelia Schrader will guide you through a practical approach to myofascial release, fascial trains, anatomy, nervous system regulation, and therapeutic movement that you can begin using straight away.

For anyone with a human body! Especially great for yoga teachers, Pilates instructors, PTs, bodyworkers, wellness practitioners, or anyone who loves understanding the body; this training will leave you with practical skills that continue long after the weekend is over.

Some people just get the assignment. Even the teacher gave up and joined them on the floor eventually. 🧦

Those things that might have felt against the rules in the past, are kinda the thing we find the most chic about yoga.

This is the version of practicing we’d pick every time.

Alanis Morissette should have sung about rushing to yoga, amirite?

A gentle reminder that we lock our doors once class begins. Partly for security, and partly so everyone who has already arrived, settled in and started their practice can do so without interruptions. ☁️

So give yourself a lil extra time next class. Come early, enjoy our beautiful new foyer, get yourself settled, and start your practice with your heart rate significantly lower than Jac’s is here. 🤎

A Somatic Yoga Journey
with Jac Keleher

‘Ground of Being’ is an embodied and experiential workshop that explores yoga through a somatic lens, guiding you into a deeper conversation with yourself - as a whole body, having a whole experience.

Drawing on elements of Body-Mind Centering, embodied anatomy, non-dual Ta**ra, and ecology, this workshop guides you in awakening these teachings into your yoga practice.

This offering is a refuge to listen more deeply and come home to the deep well of intelligence that lives within your body.

What to expect:
• Embodied movement & yoga asana
• Somatic meditation
• Non-dual Ta***ic philosophy
• A place to listen deeply
