PDT Championships or ‘Pole Dance Tasmania Championships’ (previously Tasmanian Pole Championships) mission is to bridge the much needed gap and encourage the new generation of Tasmanian ‘up and coming pole performers’. The revamped championships provides an entry level platform, a pre-professional (or amateur level) state competition not previously available in Tasmania plus the only state comp Tasmanian owned and run for Tasmanian Polers. This non-intimidating, friendly competition supports and encourages all who are interested in performing pole, to give it a go, whether their goal is to eventually become a professional pole competitor down the track, or to just get up and have fun performing for an audience the style of their choice. Tassie polers have a chance to dip their toes in, build their pole competing skills and confidence gradually, and find their pole style, before contemplating and/or competing in professional competitions, where they may find themselves cemented, restricted eligibility wise unable to re-enter amateur level competitions.

‘PDT Championships will give Tassie polers the opportunity to perform alongside and compete with polers outside of their own studio building Tassie poler camaraderie and pole pride for the state.

PDT Championships (Pole Dance Tasmania Championships) is a 2024 evolved revamp of the Tasmanian Pole Championships Ext. 2013 by Tasmanian industry leader ‘Bec Collins aka Bebe Sparkle’ (Tassie renowned pole dance artist, producer, instructor + Owner of Hobart’s first and longest running professional pole studio - 'Diamond Class Pole and Fitness Studio' Est. 2007. Bec/Bebe has produced approx 30 + pole dance competitions to date in Tas, including the professional Tasmanian state heats for national 'MPD Australia' for 5 years 2011 - 2016, giving the stepping stone opportunity to Hobart's original or 'old school' polers who are now competing in professional level comps. She's now offering the opportunities to new and up coming Tassie polers and we are excited to see what the new generation of pole performers bring to the stage!
