We have a very interesting framed print of Mt Everest, in the shop window. The print celebrates the ascent of Everest by Sue Fear and the 50th anniversary of its first ascent by Hillary.
Autographed by Sue Fear on 31st July 2003.
Very nice clean condition.
Measures 70.5 x 58.5cm

We have been fundraising for the Tasmanian Land Conservancy for a long period. Initially our Garage Sales began as a small idea to simplify the processing and Recycle of items which were not suitable for resale in our shop. Over many years what began as a simple idea 😄 has developed into a Bi-Annual event usually held in March and November, and held over a whole weekend.

These events now involve dozens of Volunteer staff and are enthusiastically attended by hundreds of customers, even reputedly some customers flying to Hobart from interstate to attend! 😮

It is so motivating for our staff to be involved in supporting the incredible work of TLC.
This initiative has also literally saved tons (aprox 13 cubic metres or more, each sale) of stuff which otherwise would most probably have ended up in landfill.

Our outdoor community have access to gear at bargain prices and with some effort and a bit of work, that gear will remain functional and in use, for years to come.

Although the donated sum is substantial, just to give you an idea, over only the past three years Recycled Recreation has donated $49,967 total to TLC.

All this from items of outdoor gear and random other stuff like books 📚 and plants and even 🍋 lemons!

Made in New Zealand this one is particularly thick, very warm and in Excellent Condition, even the shirt-tail bottom edge is perfect! This desirable style with double-button front pockets is also the very practical 'OS size' meaning about Men's Large.

When you can't Recycle an item for it's original use, it is lovely to RE-PURPOSE a piece of outdoor gear.
Ofcourse, I didn't invent the idea of hiking boots which become pot plants 🪴 However I think you will agree these Scarpa Boots in their new role look great in the window at Recycled Recreation. 😁.
If you like the idea but haven't got the time, skills or boots 🙂 you can buy this pair with quality potting mix and established succulents for $40.

This weekend is a LONG WEEKEND 😁 but Recycled Recreation is OPEN ON SATURDAY. 10am to 3pm...
and 😆 'WAIT THERES MORE' (gear, that is) because we are buying again. So we have restocked!

So come in and make the most of the opportunity to snaffle some lovely, second-hand and useful stuff for your next outdoor adventure.

UPDATE for Buying gear at Recycled Recreation.😁
Due to ongoing negotiation regarding Sale of our business Recycled Recreation, we would like to let you all know that it is unlikely Recycled Recreation will close 🙂. Nothing definite yet to announce, but 'stay tuned!

From 1st June 2026, we will resume assessments and buying quality outdoor gear at Recycled Recreation.
You can drop off and leave items with us for assessment. As previously, we expect the process to take from a week to 10 days.

To facilitate our staff in providing a prompt service PLEASE could you ONLY bring items which are brand named outdoor clothing and equipment that is specifically for hiking/bushwalking, climbing or travelling. Please be considerate of our staff: we appreciate items which are reasonably clean, pockets empty, and items dry.

We CAN NOT ACCEPT items which are fashion clothing or safety specific eg, Life jackets, Climbing ropes and Helmets, and Electronic devices such as Epirb.

We DO NOT BUY Skis, snow and ski boots (Xcountry or downhill). We do not buy general sports gear equipment such as bicycles and tennis racquets 😆. We do not buy camping furniture, swags, swim suits, waders, fishing gear, or sailing gear.
If you have any questions please call staff BEFORE bringing stuff to us. Ph: 0449575384.

PLEASE understand that what we resell in our shop is a selection of items we choose. Items may not be suitable due to stains or damage that we are unable to repair to a standard we deem suitable for resale. If we let you know that any item is 'not suitable', you may choose for us to donate these to The Tasmanian Land Conservancy fundraiser, or collect them at the earliest opportunity.

We will contact you back by text and if/when our offer is accepted we pay direct to your nominated bank account. We do not pay out cash unless in exceptional circumstances or arranged prior for small amounts.

Please be assured that our condition assessment is conducted thoroughly, and we pay respectfully, based on condition etc. We are happy to discuss detail and receive feedback after our offer is made...and WE REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR ONGOING SUPPORT. ❤️
