- It promotes or enhance sustainable practices
- It enhances physical and mental health
- It is made of natural, organic, sustainable, biodegradable or recycled material

- It can be used to improve energy or water efficiency
- Preferable, it is made in our region or supports local economies

While we’ve all been snuggling up with our hot water bottles this winter, have you considered what they’re made from?!

Some hot water bottles are made from PVC (think strong ‘hot water bottle’ chemical smell!). Many of us prefer to avoid PVC because it is a fossil fuel–derived plastic, and ongoing concerns have been raised about the chemical additives and phthalates used to make it flexible. So, after a lot of research, we sourced 100% natural rubber hot water bottles for you! These are made by Sänger, a wonderful German company who adhere to a very high standard of manufacturing. Constructed with just a single piece of rubber with no seams, prioritising safety and longevity. We feel this is the best option out there not only for premium quality, but for your own health and the health of the planet.

After 12 wonderful years with Teros, owners Mel and Ahmet are retiring - and it's time for new owners to take Teros to the next chapter.

Humbled by your support and proud to have contributed over $175,000 to conservation projects, Mel & Ahmet are now searching for new leadership to build on Teros' values and spirit. In the meantime, the store is still buzzing with new products and working on new projects.

We’ve seen even more of you going home with our locally made beeswax candles lately, and it has been heartwarming to hear why 🥰

Many of you are enjoying candles not only for relaxation, but you’ve also shared with us that you’re embracing a gentler winter evening routine with your families to support your natural circadian rhythm 💛

Swapping bright overhead lights and screens for warm candlelight in the evening reduces exposure to blue light, which is known to interfere with your body’s natural production of the sleep hormone melatonin. With its soft amber glow, candlelight mimics a natural sunset, helping to remind us that it is time to rest and to release melatonin.

There are so many other lovely things about beeswax candles, including of course that they are a natural, toxin-free and long lasting alternative to paraffin and soy.

In celebration of National NAIDOC Week yesterday we joined many others at the flag raising ceremony at Risdon Cove. It was an honour to connect with the incredibly long history of palawa culture.

We particularly enjoyed the art pathway leading to the ceremony site, along with the beautiful creations by local children, made from natural materials.

We’re grateful for opportunities like these to listen, learn, and deepen our connection to Country and community.

Look what we recently unpacked... the healthiest regarded baking paper around 🤗👩🏻‍🍳

After a delay due to production issues, our long awaited baking paper is back gracing our shelves once again! It has been identified by many reputable sources as one of the safest (and most sustainable!) baking papers on the market. It’s home compostable, FSC certified, unbleached and totally chlorine-free.

Did you know that many brands intentionally add PFAS chemicals to enhance parchment’s nonstick and moisture-resistant properties?! We have found independent lab tests to support that If You Care do not do this!

We know a lot of you have been eagerly awaiting its arrival, so we wanted to reach out to let you know it’s baaack 💚
