Buckingham Bowls Club Established in 1905, Buckingham Bowls Club is situated in the Hobart suburb of New Town and has a prime position on the Main Rd New Town

Buckingham (known by most locals as 'bucks') is a large club situated 10 mins from Hobart CBD in the suburb of New Town. With a new synthetic green and a grass surface, the club offers its existing as well as potential new members the opportunity to play the great game of lawn bowls all year round. Friday nights, members, guests and visitors are warmly welcomed to come and enjoy a meal provided by the club cooking team (notice of upcoming Fridays will be posted on Facebook). Yesterday (17/06/26), the Buckingham Bowls Club proudly hosted an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, joining communities across the country in support of the Cancer Council and helping to raise vital funds for those affected by cancer.

While we fell just short of our fundraising target of $500, we are delighted to report that a very respectable $437 was raised on the day. Every dollar makes a difference and will help support the Cancer Council’s important work in cancer research, prevention and support services.

A sincere thank you goes to the organisers for their hard work in bringing the event together, to the generous prize donors for their contributions, to everyone who brought along a plate to share, and to those who made donations online. The delicious spread provided a fantastic morning tea that was enjoyed by all in attendance.

On behalf of the club, thank you to everyone who supported the event and helped make the morning such a success. Your generosity and community spirit are greatly appreciated, and the funds raised will assist the Cancer Council in continuing its valuable work supporting Australians affected by cancer.

The jackpot for Friday week the 5th of June is $100! (Note: due to the AGM the members draw is moving forward a week)
Congratulations to club member Romun Zapatocky in winning $300 cash at the last draw (Just a friendly reminder you must be present to win the money!).
The Friday nights Draw is also a Meal Night and themed as Ausmeal (please come along dressed in Aussie Style, there is also a lucky door prize this week, so come along for a great night at the Club!
