Hobart Dog Training Club

Hobart Dog Training Club Welcome to The Hobart Dog Training Club (aka. Hobart Canine Obedience Club Inc.) Hobart Canine Obedience Club Inc.).

We are a non profit, volunteer run organization operating on the Domain Crossroads, Queens Domain in Hobart most Sundays throughout the year. We offer training in Obedience, Agility, Nose-works, Flyball, Tracking, and Rally-Obedience for all levels - from beginners, all the way through to trial standard. And for the adventurous/competitive, we also conduct ANKC Recognised Trials throughout the yea

r where successful participants can earn points towards nationally recognised ANKC dog performance titles. Our Classes are run by instructors experienced in their field who enjoy passing on their knowledge in the various dog sports on offer. This main page will focus primarily on the operational and handy to know posts by the club itself. If you would like to join a bubbling community of dog lovers and to the minute references, Jodie, one of our senior instructors, manages the group "Woofling On - All Things Dog", which can be found here: https://web.facebook.com/groups/138231886199123/

Request for assistance

Hi, I am looking to be pointed in the right direction if possible? I am an owner of greyhounds in Tasmania and I am reaching out to enquire if someone in your network is in a position to assist with greyhound "Pet life/Home life training" at the end of their racing career; this mainly involves; Ensuring dogs are able to walk decently on a lead Be able walk near and around small dogs Ensuring that they don't resource guard food or toys That dogs ideally be able to walk up stairs Retrain them to remove any antisocial behaviour that a greyhound may have Ideally spend time inside a house or a garage/shed sleeping/be around people Once the training is successfully done, the greyhound would enter the Greyhound as Pets program at Mangalore, just out of Hobart. From there they are permanently adopted to their forever home. In summary we are looking for people to assist us to retrain greyhounds at the end of their racing careers in readiness for pet life. Our requirement would be that the greyhounds would board at the person's property for the time that the training takes place. If you know of someone that is in a position to accommodate this, I would love to have a conversation about the next steps and what the associated costs would be. Kind regards, Ricky Aitken 0428408788
