Bugeido Shotokan Karate-do Australia is a member of Bugeido Australia. The Japanese word "BUGEIDO" translates as the ‘artistic way of the warrior’. Bugeido Australia was established in Sale, Victoria, when Geoff Reddish Shihan commenced teaching the combined disciplines of Karate-Do and Jiu-Jitsu in August 1977. was preceded by the founding of the Sale Karate school in 1975. asis is placed on the "ART" of Karate than on any other aspect. To this end, the traditional objectives of self control, self discipline and humility are foremost in our teaching. The organisation moved to Tasmania in 1985 where there are Dojos located in the north and south of the State and recently affiliate dojos opened in Victoria and Japan. All administrative costs of the organisation are covered by the student annual membership fee. This fee will be reviewed from time to time to ensure costs are met.

This week was the last week of training for 2025. All sessions were open to our parents/guardians and public. These sessions were also our certificate presentations for those students who graded last weekend. Congratulations to all of those who have been promoted to their next grade/belt.

Congratulations to both Jasper and Joe on their promotion to Shodan-Ho (Peewee) and to Ben who has also been promoted to the rank of Shodan-Ho (Senior). It must be noted that there have only been eight Shodan-Ho grades awarded to our Peewees in 45 years!

In addition to the above, congratulations to our Budo Award winners, Maggie (Peewee), Charlotte (Junior) and Owen (Seniors). Well done.

Special shout out to Sempai Zac, who is home on leave from the Army, it was great to see him at training this week.

And finally, thank you to my Yudansha for all your support for 2025 and to all my students and their parents/guardians, may you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy new year. Cheers, Sensei🥋

Good evening everyone, just an update regarding the Christmas school holiday break. Our open classes will commence from Monday 15th through to Thursday 18th of December, these sessions will be open to the public, so make sure you book your space. Our last training session for the year will be on the Thursday (18th).

As for the holidays, there will be training sessions held on Mondays and Thursdays from 6pm to 7.30pm and will be opened to Pweewees/Juniors/seniors. These sessions will commence from January 5th. Cheers, Sensei.
