We offer fun, creative yoga for 2½ - 12yr olds, teaching children how to relax, move and use their bodies through storytelling, breathing and relaxation exercises, games & activities. oga and lay the foundations for a happy, healthy life for our children. In addition to improving coordination, strength and flexibility, our programs are designed to stimulate the imagination and teach breathing, concentration and relaxation techniques that can help your child learn how to deal with stressful situations, unwind, manage frustration, and get more enjoyment out of life. Concentration and memory retention improves and children are more cooperative and attentive. Results show that children are healthier, calmer, more focused and better able to control their emotions at home and at school. Qualified teachers take children on interactive adventures by combining well known children’s stories such as The Gruffalo and The Very Hungry Caterpillar with traditional yoga poses, teaching posture, correct breathing and relaxation techniques. Combining fun and exercise, children can go on space missions, on a jungle adventure or a magical underwater party. Stories come to life through specially programs designed to get their bodies moving and imaginations running wild! Older children (8 - 12 years) are introduced to yoga through Yoga’d Up which explores themes such as ‘Exploring the World’s Animals”, and “yoga for your body and mind”, building confidence and self-esteem as they prepare for the often difficult teenage years. Yoga is the perfect ‘take anywhere, do anytime’ activity for restless, growing bodies that want and NEED to move! YogaBugs Tasmania offers classes for three age groups:

Ideal for schools’ daily fitness, after school and holiday care programs, preschools, kinder groups and day care centres as well as health clubs and gyms. Our programs are also fantastic for children with additional needs such as asthma, behavioural or attention issues, and autism. Please talk to your YogaBugs teacher about specific breathing and posture work for your child. We provide programs that:

Safe: Taught by qualified teachers in a safe and welcoming environment. Inclusive: YogaBugs is available to kids of all abilities and levels of fitness and coordination. It is non-competitive and allows children to learn to move their bodies in ways important to proper development. Increase physical strength, flexibility, and coordination: YogaBugs classes are held within schools and approved venues in a safe and welcoming environment. Classes are accessible to children of all abilities and tackle the problems of childhood obesity, impaired musculoskeletal development in inactive children, higher levels of childhood diabetes and asthma, and low self-esteem. Increase confidence: YogaBugs classes are noisy and interactive, with the stories designed to help children to express themselves physically as well as emotionally. Gentle visualisation exercises teach children that they are unique, special and loved. Improve concentration: Balancing postures help children to focus their thoughts and concentrate, and teaches them techniques to use in class to stop wandering minds!
