Came away with a class win in the OT1600. I was having difficulty finding 2nd gear throughout the day but managed to put in a few decent times. Many thanks to Phil Blake for trusting me with his weapon.

A lap of Baskerville in Phil Blakes OT1600. Complete opposite to an Alfasud. I set a 1:07.4 - alarminlgy close to the Alfasuds time.

Apologies for the rubbish footage.

2025 has been my biggest year in motorsport so far. From competing in 7 rounds of the Tasmanian Circuit Racing Championship, navigating in two gravel rallies, 4 hillclimbs, 5 club days as well as a few testing days thrown in. I have had the privilege of driving six different race cars. I can also say 2025 was the year I had my first crash. Smacking a bank while chasing the win at the Domain hillclimb.

I started the year in the Alfa, however after a disastrous weekend I started looking for a more competitive race car and soon came across a race prepped Renault Clio 182.

The Alfa got a fitting sendoff finishing 2nd in its final Improved production race before the Clio took over IP duties.

The Renault needed a lot of setting up to get the most out of it but after everything I learnt from the Alfa I was able to get the Clio close to where it needed to be fairly quickly. And I started getting the results I was chasing in the Alfa but never quite managed.

Halfway through the year I got the call up to navigate for Hamish Elliot in his Hyundai Getz rally car. Glad I said yes as it is one of the best experiences I have had in a car.

I have met some amazing people in my journey who without I would not be in the same position I am currently. Motorsport has led me to places I would never have gone. I've been hurtled through two Forrest's, found myself lost in beautiful scenary between cradle mountain and lake barrington. And witnessed some of the scary lows motorsport can offer.

I found myself in one of those lows when I pushed the Alfa too hard at the Domain hillclimb, having my first altercation with solid earth.

I've had an amazing year and can't wait for 2026๐Ÿ

A weekend of mixed emotions. Here's a quick summary before a wall of words.

Friday: made a big improvement in setup.

Saturday: PB in quali. Great pace in race 1. Clutch issues race 2.

Sunday: alarming wheel wobble race 1. Shagged tyres race 2. Puncture/dnf race 3.

First on the Boss of Baskerville handicap๐Ÿ†

I was feeling very positive heading into the weekend after a successful practice day on Friday. Making setup changes which got the rear end rotating nicely.

One Saturday qualifying went well. Set a PB on shagged tyres and was looking forward to some close racing.

Race 1 was great fun. The Clio ran faultlessly and put some bigger cars to shame.

Race 2 was not so successful. The clutch was giving issues so I opted to leave the car in 4th gear the whole race. Dropping a spot to Mary's Skin Care .

Sunday morning I was feeling positive. We got the clutch to behave and I bolted on some fresher tyres since Saturdays tyres were toast( see photos). However the car had a shocking wheel vibrating which gave me very little confidence to push. Still finished 3rd.

Race three I found the wheel wobble to only be a lack of wheel weights. Pushed hard during the race but the tyres were not up to the job.

Race 4 was the double points final. Going into the race I was sitting 3rd for the round. All I had to do was finish. Unfortunately with 2 laps to go I got a puncture and had to retire. Devastated.

To lighten my mood. I entered the Boss of Baskerville handicap race. Where cars are released in order of lap time, with the idea being every car should finish at the same time.

I only had road tyres left after 4 of the 6 AO50s I brought were dead. I put the road tyres on the rear and my best two AO50s on the front. to my amazement the car was handling brilliantly. The rear coming around very nicely.

Once the race started, I made up a couple spots and no one appeared to be catching me. I almost started to thing I could win this thing. I started to panick when the fastest car of the group got right up behind me. But there it was, the chequered flag! And I was ahead!

Very happy to bring home some silverware and claim the title "Boss of Baskerville". I also managed to wrap up 3rd in the Improved Production under 2l championship. But disappointed not to finish on the podium for the race. But that's motorsport!

Thankyou to my sponsors who let me go racing.

Preparation is looking a little different for this weekend. I managed to mangle my finger on an Alfa. It will be an interesting experience wrestling the Clio around with one hand. Robert Kubica managed it however.
